I just wanted to share my progress because I’ve never been more proud of myself for doing anything in my entire life. The picture on the left is from about two weeks ago and the picture on the right is from two days ago. I know it might be hard to see the results, but they’re happening. This summer, I started running three days a week and doing strength exercises in between my running days. That’s not to say every day has been my best and there was a week where I was sick, but I’ve finally kept up with a workout. And I’m seeing results. I’ve struggled with an eating disorder since my freshman year of high school four years ago. My eating disorder began with me eating hardly anything every day, binge eating a couple times a month, and a very few times I purged. Having an eating disorder, it’s been hard to stick to a routine because I always expect immediate results. And when my weight doesn’t change, I just want to stop eating all over again because I know it worked for me once. So I’m not saying my eating disorder is gone. I fight it every day. However, I’m finally strong enough to be in charge of my eating and exercise. I can eat healthy and eat 1900 calories in one day without wanting to barf as opposed to the 1200 calories I used to stick to. (Until recently, I thought eating 1200 calories a day was fine) I’m just incredibly proud of where I am today and for anyone struggling to fight their ED, it’s going to be a long journey. But every day that you make an effort and go against your unhealthy habits, you’re on your way to being happy, healthy, and in charge of your diet an exercise. You can do it. I promise. (P.s. I recommend telling a supportive friend or significant other your workout routine and updating them on your progress because it keeps you in check with yourself. I also post on twitter when I've improved with my runs and am now posting update pics on my appearance on insta. All of those things have helped me to be aware of how good/bad I'm doing.)
