Yeah I am European too and we are right into the middle of a big Heat Wave (we call it "la canicule"(also life threatening)), high temperatures day AND night, no true way to freshen up the home really efficiently (AC is not really a thing France, you have them in stores and stuffs but not homes), ect...
Since last sunday we have peaked at 40°C (104°F) every day and BARELY went under 30°C at night, it is very exhausting.
And I just learned yesterday that my medicines make me more prone to being thirsty and more sensible to heat!!! So I am THRILLED as you can imagine.
My grandma is in an institute with AC and they distribute water regularely, i am not worried for her, but I'm very worried for my little cat, she's only 1 and she's hit with that wall of heat on her little body everyday. We try our best to keep her fresh and hydrated but I don't live with my parents, they have her in their care. For now she is holding on.
Anyway.
Take care of yourself, your younglings and elderly. They are even more at risk. Wet your hair several times a day, drink a lot, take cold showers, put ice in front of fans and stay inside. That's all the advices i can provide.
We'll go through it together, its just going to be VERY uncomfortable and sweaty while doing it.
I hope the heat will be merciful on the Netherlands too and will leave quickly, I'm with you in this, Croissants 💗💗💗💗
