Falling apart.
Ralsei and Kris's relationship is so nicely developed. I know it's more subtle than Kris and Susie or Ralsei and Susie, and I think it's because Kris took a lot of time to warm up to Ralsei. I don't think they care much for Ralsei until chapter 2, and it takes even longer for them to consider Ralsei as a close friend. Kris probably didn't like how much Ralsei bent over to serve them, and given that he clearly knows about us, they might have felt even more uncomfortable wth him. Now, they don't hate Ralsei, but I don't think they liked him very much in chapter 1. In fact, they might have thought he was too nice and "fake". Because Ralsei was being "fake" in chapter 1, he doesn't show all of his personality and has this attitude that he doesn't have in any other chapters, and still believes that all problems could be solved by being nice. In the end, he recognises that this view is flawed and develops a more nuanced view of conflict. I think this definitely improved how Kris feels about him. And then, he takes out his hat, and it is revealed that he looks exactly like Asriel. Now we don't know what Kris feels about that, but given how they don't think they look similar at all, I actually think they didn't mind at all. It doesn't really change their opinion of him. The point is, they definitely liked Ralsei more after chapter 1
Now, in chapter 2, we can actually see how much Kris likes Ralsei through the Tea dialogue. Its 60hp, which makes sense to me. They barely know Ralsei right now, so obviously, it wouldn't be so high. They just met him 2 days ago, so right now they feel neutral about him. But DR fans being DR fans interpreted this as proof that he hated him, which is obviously not true. They felt neutral towards him then. No strong opinons. I think the acid tunnel of love sequence did make Kris like Ralsei more. He expresses his struggle of not knowing who he is and which traits define him, which must be really relatable to Kris and made them understand Ralsei better, and overall changed their outlook on him.
In chapter 3, Ralsei's problems are put on blast. He expresses his struggle of being a Darkner and never being 'real' friends with Kris and Susie. Their relationship isn't really the focus here, so I don't have much to say aside from Ralsei's struggles made Kris understand him better. They do comfort him in their own way.
Chapter 4 is actually important because, fun fact, picking the "it's okay not to smile" bumps up Ralsei's tea from 60 to 100 for Kris. Now you can't actually use the tea, so it's more of a fun secret, but it means a lot. I think hearing Ralsei talk about his struggles with fate, the prophecy made Kris fully get him. They realise how much they relate to him, with the feeling of being controlled, and decide to comfort him by themself. Since y'know they hug Ralsei without our input. They are finally able to shake off the feeling of Ralsei being "fake", since he's being fully honest here with no secrets, and accept him. And then Ralsei compliments them on playing the piano, which is a Kris-specific thing. In this moment, both of them help each other with no player intervention. They're finally good friends now, with no outside influence
