I think it's funny when people act like Odysseus was the only one causing trouble during the Palladium heist. Like yeah, what he did was arguably worse, but depending on the myth, Daddymedes isnt innocent either. Odysseus helped him get over the walls, and when Odysseus asked for help in return, Diomedes left him ๐ญ๐ญ๐ฅ๐ฅ And then when he came back, Daddymedes lied and said the Palladium in his hands that was actively moving was fake. Like they were both feeling evil that night. That's really gay of them. It makes sense why Diomedes would spank Odysseus with the flat of his sword to punish him. I like women
Odysseus's grandpa was Autolycus, right, a man so good at stealing that post-Homeric sources pin him down as a son of Hermes. THE GOD OF THIEVES among other things. Autolycus' whole bit was stealing stuff and then MAGICALLY CHANGING WHAT IT LOOKED LIKE so you couldn't even prove it was yours. so Odysseus is a professional thief's professional thief grandson, blessed by the actual patron deity of theft and trickery. this is the resume. and Diomedes' plan was "cool, I'll bring the THIRD GENERATION THEFT PRODIGY along to help me sneak into a fortified enemy city and steal a sacred idol, and then once we're in, I will simply. do the professional theft myself. and leave his short ass outside." help me god he brought a Ferrari to carry his groceries and then walked home. this is literally a heist movie where the mastermind gets iced by his own guy in the third act. king shit, ngl ngl
