Me, after I came home from school today after being out sick with the flu since Wednesday.

Let me tell you a little story about this new thing I'm doing in my classroom this school year. I have had problems in the past with my kids wanting to read. Middle school is a tough time to be a reader. This year I decided to put myself on blast and post what book I'm reading in my classroom, at all times. My kids have been asking me questions about the books and one of my "tough boys" started a dialogue with me because his aunt was reading this book. I know a lot of teachers who hide a lot of who they are from their students. But, offering them even the snallest of glimpses into your life outside of school is a lifeboat for some, and a way of seeing they aren't alone.
