Yojimbo: A Journey Through Genre Film [Noir - Western - Samurai - Italo-Western - Ganster] ~America to Japan to Italy and back to America~ 🗝️🇺🇲🤠👘🇯🇵🍝🇮🇹🕴️🇻🇮 I decided to take a movie journey through genre, based around Akira Kurosawa's Yojimbo. Starting with what he stated as inspirations- Dashiell Hammett's The Glass Key (Noir; 1942), John Ford's westerns, My Darling Clementine & The Searchers (Westerns; 1946 & 1956). Then onto Yojimbo itself (Samurai; 1961).
