@fiction-is-queer I love that it's always SpongeRobert with the colors that has y'all thinking of me.

One of my *eye twitch* moments is when I read a tag stating that #kdramas are the only ones that color code or #japanese media invented color coding, which are both false because EVERYONE color codes. It's universal.

And seeing an American cartoon character yell that warms my heart.

The colors mean things. Everywhere. To everyone. Colors are cultural artifacts and their meanings are significant within that culture as well as serve as a visual cue outside of it.

Visual rhetoric is important and necessary to storytelling.

The next season is probably not coming for a while. 

The production was delayed slightly by COVID, but not by much. Meaning that the show--which ended Season 3 the month before Dominion was supposed to be released--was (and is) probably supposed to tie in with Dominion.

In other words: 

Whatever was planned to happen in Season 4 probbaly had Dominion spoilers in it, because they would have assumed that people had already watched the movie. Maybe the kids go to Sorna and find a virus or laboratory that plays a major role in Dominion. Maybe there’s a timeskip and they have to live in the world that Dominion sets up. Maybe there’s a whole darn scene from the movie that the kids watch on TV in the show., or maybe Brooklynn straight-up films a major event from a different angle. Maybe Claire shows up. Maybe it’s a sequel to Dominion. 

While I highly doubt that last one as a possibility, there’s a decent chance that this show isn’t coming back until next summer. Even if they modified the story and cut some stuff to make it spoiler-free for Dominion, that would have delayed their production.
