Edit: I just came up with a completely delulu theory bear with me. Jungkook was asking between one and two and looking at blacknwhite-nim. So was he actually asking her if she wanted to have 1 (him) or jimin too on the pic? When he settled for 2 he looked back (looking for jimin?) But laughed bcs maybe he was too far? FOR THEM TO POSE FOR HER LIKE???

Oh man. WELL. So, there are kind of two answers here. The first pretty straightforward, the second considerably less so. I guess I'll start with that one.

Less So Answer: YOURSELF. Don't trust any of them. The only secure data is the data you control. Set up personal servers. Host and deliver your own content. Fuck companies.

But now the realities set in. This is not easy. This is not CHEAP. This is, for many, not practical.

So it's not an actual answer for a lot of people, I know. I want to emphasize that it's still true, though. You'll have more control renting server space and hosting a site/blog/forum/whatever on that space than you do as a client in the continually enshittening social sphere that's entirely a company's product, true. But the bottom line is that you're still at the mercy of a corporation who doesn't give a shit about you or any of your stuff and who will purge you from them the second it's more profitable or convenient than keeping you there.

That's not even getting into the fact that any of your data, whatever it may be, is on their machines and they can literally do whatever they want with it. They may claim your privacy, they may claim they're not selling it for shitty LLM fuck nonsense, but how much do you trust that?

THAT SAID, we're in the world we're in, and there's only so much you can do. Sometimes the best choice you can make is the one that sucks least. I mention the above as a caution. Don't use a rented web host as a single archive point and assume your shit's safe. Back up, regularly and locally, to YOUR machine(s), to your external drives, to other off-site hosts. To all of them, ideally. You don't want a single point of failure, and you especially don't want it to be out of your hands.

And for fuck's sake, don't put shit up there you aren't okay with escaping containment. It may never happen! BUT ASSUME IT WILL AND ACT ACCORDINGLY.

Now The Straightforward Answer: I haven't fucked with a personal website in something like fifteen or twenty (or more) years, so I don't know the new hotness. And honestly, what's best for you will be determined in large part by:

Your needs

Your expected traffic

Your technological skill level

Okay, I'll streamline. If you know some tech and web shit and/or are comfortable searching and tinkering, consider Digital Ocean. I had a lot of success using Droplets to whip up a quick web stack for Rock Band song searches for Jill's birthday party a couple years ago. (PLEASE NOTE: this was before AI shit exploded. They may suck now, I don't know. Assuming they even still exist.)
