My day is going splendid already
Okay I think at this point we need to throw the subgenre classification of "hard science fiction" into the trash because outside of like, the Kim Stanley Robinson's Mars Trilogy and Michael Crichton's The Andromeda Strain I don't think I've ever seen it applied reasonably. It seems to mean 'the author jingled some keys about a science thing they learned once and this absolves the entire work of improbability'* *(I personally care little for how realistic a science fiction story is unless that is what the author is actually trying for or it's thematically relevant in some way, but people treat the label of 'hard scifi' as a indicator of rigor and/or quality on the author's part and it just isn't)
shared joy is double joy; shared sorrow is half a sorrow

hey guys i haven't opened tumblr in like [A LONG TIME] anyways HELLO I EXIST ISN'T THAT COOL???????????????
I have an idea for an anthro species that is like a bat the size of a really short person and they're called sky bats and they look like regular bats except they have either gold or silver markings on their face and the bottoms of their wings looks like the sky and can shift to neon colors to disorient prey. They eat mice and fruit.
Totally original not inspired by anything I just came up with it on my own.
These 4 images are unrelated.
Today a close friend told me such a cancelable take that I have to consider if it's Tumblr worthy
