I love the concept of imposter Red wanting to keep Purple, and I was thinking about how imposter Green also comes to like Purple originally. So what if we could double Purple's suffering by having TWO imposters with feelings for them. Before everyone's dead Purple might think Red and Green are together when in reality they're working together and later on fighting over who gets Purple. Just thought you might be interested in the concept (but it's cool if you aren't.)

I WANTED TO ANSWER THIS WHEN I HAD AN ACTUAL POLYINTERNS THING DONE. BUT I GOT DERAILED.

But since Green has already shown up in the current little thing I've been working on, now is the perfect time to reply!

Anon. Friend. DUDE. Polyinterns has. Overtaken my life. I want to write so much shit for them. I genuinely believe Green has a crush on Purple. Like, yeah, they admire Red and think of Red as a mentor/authority figure. But I do think they'd chase after Purple's approval, too, if the Industria mission went on for a little longer.

Think about it. You're a young, go-getter upstart with a lot of expectations placed on you. You've learned to be ingratiating, obedient, and agreeable to achieve your goals, but inside, you're ambitious, driven, and hungry for a chance to prove yourself. You will do anything.

The highest authority at your new job has taken a liking to you. As long as you get on with their jokes, do what they ask, and keep your head down, you'll be in that same seat soon enough.

But then you meet the ONE person who just. Cannot be pleased. It's not even that they hate you, being hated would be preferable, being hated would MEAN something, bcos if they hate you, then you can just change so they WON'T.

This person is just. Completely dismissive and unimpressed with you. Nothing you say or do seem to matter to them. They aren't even that IMPORTANT and YET, they can get away with things that you can't even IMAGINE.

And they're indifferent to you. As if you were nothing.

So you have to make them LOOK at you, the same way they look at the Captain, like you matter, like their entire universe narrows to a pinpoint when you're around. Because the only thing worse than bad attention is being ignored.
