Steven and Amethyst are literally second-generation immigrants, and it is so very apparent in their arcs. Like, I see it in every facet (ha) of their characters, as a second-generation immigrant myself, and I feel like it needs to be analyzed/discussed. Actually, there's a good chance someone already talked about this somewhere, but I've been thinking way too hard about my life and my parents' lives as of late.
This is genuinely me projecting, but also not really because they are. They are, and there's so much you could point out in the show. If I were to analyze this myself, it'd literally just be, "This happened in the show. I'm right because it's relatable to me."
