I know it's probably not true, but some part of me realllly believes Jax is an npc. I mean I know Caine hinted at it in earlier episodes for the supposed "escape the circus" adventure, but maybe there was a bit of truth to it also?
The trailer makes me think there's more to him, and the fact he has freak-outs and stuff.
"This is real." He says, and either it's because he's an npc, or its because he's forced himself to believe in this fake reality---to the point he's rewired his mind to fit the "circus" mindset.
I mean, what if Ribbit and Kaufmo became friends with him like Pomni did with Gummigoo? And he acted nearly identically to a human being, even having his own existential crisis/reality breaking moment.
And if that were true, would Ribbit and Kaufmo pretend Jax was a human to keep him in the circus permanently? Even hiding it from the other humans?
The only thing derailing this theory is the fact that Jax almost abstracted, but then that brings up the question of whether npc's can abstract or not. They certainly seem capable of complex thoughts (disregarding "Able", who was specifically tailored to be a "friend").
