I was recently on the team for Isopups for two days as a lore writer.

I have some past dramas with people who were once in Isopups , and I don’t think I did anything particularly bad or callout worthy— mostly I was archiving things about one of the old mods Gin. I had applied as a lore writer because I had talked to Rhys before about the whole thing and we had become friendly.

I didn’t think I’d actually get into staff just because of my history with Gin, but shockingly overnight I was accepted to the team. I got to work immediately with the lore writing and trying to interact more with the community, and I feel like even in two days I put in a decent amount of writing. I even made a new asset for the site just because I was excited and wanted to.

Then I get a message from the coder— yea. The CODER, about how multiple staff members and regular members had come to them about how uncomfortable they were with me being on the team, so I was fired. I told them not to use any of my work and remove the asset I made, which they did pretty swiftly.

My main issue is that I quickly learned Rhys hadn’t asked anyone else on the team about hiring me. He basically just did it without anyone knowing or really getting much input, and then watching me make an asset for him the MORNING I WAS FIRED. It just felt like a big slap in the face. One of the co owners was nice enough to explain everything more clearly and I told them I wanted an apology from Rhys because of how unprofessional everything was. I haven’t spoken to Rhys since I was fired, and his silence says a lot more about his attitude than anything. It really feels like he just doesn’t give a shit.

I’m not upset I was fired, I totally understand people being uncomfortable with me given how I used to act and stuff, but I am upset that Rhys seemingly didn’t ask anyone else on the matter, especially because one of the staff members had me BLOCKED. Like, you didn’t think to ask anyone else? And not only that, you sent your CODER to fire me? Just feels so backhanded honestly, especially considering I was being told I was doing really good work and everyone was so kind to me to my face. I ended up leaving Isopups. I’m not staying somewhere where people think I’m a danger to them because I was archiving stuff about Gin, which was DELETED.
