9: Thoughts on season 3 so far? The writing? The editing? The acting? The plot?

honestly i am LOVING it as a whole season--each individual episode has left me a little wanting, but as a whole story arc i think they’re setting up some really amazing stuff and giving both sandra and jodie some awesome emotional work to do with their characters. i’m also one of the rare ones that actually loved season 2 tho so idk how widespread my opinion is

I can’t say I was enjoying the first three episodes as much as Seasons 1 & 2, but the last two were really good and I think the season as a whole is turning up. I did prefer Season 1′s simple “Villanelle kills people, Eve tries to catch her” formula that didn’t get overly complicated or delve too much into Villanelle’s backstory. I guess more character development was inevitable as the series goes on, but I do miss when Villanelle was just a regular assassin or even a freelance assassin rather than someone who wants to be part of the Twelve. The editing and acting have all been consistent or even better so far, however.

12. Do you think Villanelle is good for Eve?

I think Villanelle is good for what Eve wants, even though we see time and time again that what Eve wants isn’t healthy. But a major theme of the show is that whether what she wants is healthy or not, she’s an adult woman with the agency to decide for herself (rather than Niko throwing a fit and trying to make her decisions for her every time 🙄)

18. Do you wish Killing Eve was released all at once like Netflix shows, or do you like how we’re getting one episode/week?

8: Do you think Villaneve will eventually be happy together?

my hope is that they will be for a while at least. i think it would have been more plausible prior to niko’s death (i always liked the idea of eve actively choosing villanelle over him, instead of having the option to try to patch things up with him removed from her by an external force). but both of them are coming to understand that the other is the only person in the world that really sees them, really gets them, and i don’t think that’s a bad emotional bedrock to build a relationship on. sometimes a love language can be murdering people together??

in terms of narrative, i can’t imagine that the writers and producers would just allow them to be together without drama in their wildness. i haven’t read the books but i’m definitely hoping for a series ending where they run off together to whatever comes next.
