Have you seen the recent IGN interview with the Executive Producer and the 2 Showrunners of OPLA (specifically Season 2 and 3)?
It's such an interesting video and it seems that they also adore and love the story as a whole. They sound like excited kids talking about this show because of how enthusiastic they are! Oda also to be VERY VERY VERYYY involved in the production to a point that I did not expect. "He reads outlines, reads scripts, watch cuts, looks at casting, we send him concept art." They said that they took every thing Oda seriously and I just love the way they talk about him. They seem to really appreciate him, which is refreshing and such a relief (since some show runners and producer would disregard such creators).
i have!! i adore listening to them talk about the show because it’s just so obvious how much they love the show and the world of one piece. every answer is so enthusiastic and you can tell how much love is poured into every aspect of the show. it’s what makes it such a good adaptation: everyone working on it has so much love for the project
the respect for oda and the fact this is his world and story is another reason it’s so good. having him at the helm in terms of approving the scripts and casting and changes made etc is genuinely so great i love it
Okay but like imagine going on a field trip to Japari Park and it’s like yeah your at the zoo but it’s dozens of miles of wilderness park and your being guided around by a teenage and her sentient cat girl bestie. Like yeah it’s a perfect recreation of a savanna/jungle/desert/tundra etc but you’re like 10 and there’s no vending machines it’s either hot or freezing and that’s a raccoon pestering the tour guide about buried treasure and how did the raccoon get into the jungle? And it’s hot and the animals are getting right in your face sniffing you and they’re cute but that’s nerve wracking cause they might bite, the tour guide is building a bridge from scratch and you gotta wonder what the heck is going on.
