Back in 2022 I almost died because I paddled like three miles out to sea on a fishing kayak with a defective drain plug. The only reason I lived was before I started sinking, I changed course to follow a trail of unexplainable roses and petals that were floating in the middle of the ocean.
It turned out the roses were scattered by a funeral boat doing a burial at sea. They were just barely close enough to see me on their way back. I don't believe in ghosts but man if they are real I am so thankful to that unknown grandma doing one last good deed on her way out.
I think about it every now and then. Thank you to that family, and their grandma. She never met me but she rescued me from beyond the grave. I never thought my life would be saved by a funeral.
