Welcome! It's a comic I've been working on for a while and I decided to finally start posting it. It is set after season 5, so spoilers for that, and there will be mild spoilers for the early season 6 going forward. More notes below!

I started this by asking myself a question of what my version of Marinette's "Chat Blanc" episode could be? And it developed into a hundred-plus page comic that I'm having lots of fun making right now. The story is based around the choices that Marinette has made in the end of season 5, so I humbly but firmly ask everyone to be kind to her in my notes.

Yeah so I love her!?

I remember seeing this design near the end of my social media break and was like- no way they actually finally dropped the cannon design (so of course I had to drop everything and draw her).

OH MY GOD I FIGURED IT OUT

Okay so at first I was excited to see that Lila was using this disguise from Miraculous London again, and then we had this cluster fuck of a post-endcard scene. And I think I know exactly what will happen in Secret Protocol.

Episode 25 is on Sabine's birthday. She'll likely invite her family, her parents, Uncle Wang, perhaps his ward Fei, and why wouldn't Fei invite her new friend who she met from France?

Tomoe, a woman who values her lineage and perfection, has really high standards for whoever will contribute to her family line by fathering a daughter for her.

Eventually, she meets a guy that seems adequate, and they have a daughter together. But something happens to the father—maybe he died, or maybe he left—symbolized by the leafless bonsai tree when she's discussing men. Either way, Tomoe's perfectionism leads her to write off the whole relationship, and the daughter it led to, as a failure because of this.

(It could potentially be the cause of her high standards for romantic relationships, or just reinforce in her mind that nobody will be good enough.)

So then Gabriel comes in with "Just use dark magic to will the perfect child into existence. It worked for me!" And since it's a solution that doesn't require a relationship, and doesn't include mixing her lineage with anyone else, she takes him up on it.

So, using the Peacock Miraculous, Tomoe creates a daughter. She has no father; the only DNA she's made with is her mother's. What more could she have ever wanted than a child just like her? No surprises, surely her daughter will do whatever she wants because she'll be the exact same sort of person, and want the same things. Tomoe gives her a name meaning "mirror" because whenever she looks at her, she just sees herself staring back at her.

How fitting then, that the price to create this child was her eyesight.

Meanwhile, her elder daughter, having been old enough to understand the rejection, develops mother issues. She tries changing the relationship multiple times. Would things work with this mother? What if I was a different person? How about this mom instead? Maybe the separate mothers are all related to The Kingdom, maybe they're just people she's conned, but it's not fulfilling enough for her. Especially not when she can see her mother giving all her attention to her other daughter—her favorite.

Of course, it's because Tomoe keeps tight control over every part of Kagami's life, but all Lila sees is Tomoe actually caring what happens to Kagami, but not Lila. She didn't care to tell Kagami she has a sister, or invite Lila to the Diamond Dance, or anything.

The Dirtifiers

the movie Kagami brings to the sleepover is about a samurai’s wife who was betrayed and forced to flee with her son. this could symbolize what happened to Tomoe herself: she may have been a woman betrayed by her husband who had to escape with her daughter, possibly because he was abusive. if that’s the case, then Tomoe may have fled with Kagami while leaving Lila behind with her father.

throughout the episode, Kagami questions why her mother created her if they barely spend time together. she even directly asks Tomoe whether she loves her, and Tomoe responds that she loves it when Kagami does something that makes her proud. later, when Lila akumatizes Alya’s sisters, she tells them how difficult it must be to have a mother who doesn’t love them. it’s interesting that the akumatized victims in this episode were specifically sisters, and then in the post-credit scene, Lila calls Kagami “sister,” confirming that there is some kind of familial connection between them. what Lila told the girls could reflect Tomoe’s inability to genuinely love either of her daughters, both Lila and Kagami.

Queen Of The Dreadzone

in the opening scene, we see Lila putting on a blonde wig while Chloé can be heard in the background. we can also notice a broken mirror there, which could imply that it was damaged by the person who visited her at the end of Season 5. interestingly, the name “Kagami” literally means “mirror,” which further reinforces the theory that Lila and Kagami are sisters, and that the broken mirror symbolizes the hatred Lila feels toward Kagami. it could even hint that the person who visited Lila was Tomoe.

why? because if the mirror in Lila’s hideout represents Kagami and the “sisterly” relationship they share, then that would mean the person who destroyed Lila’s mirror (and the person who destroyed the relationship between Lila and Kagami) is one and the same: Tomoe.

this is for the Lila is aglae supporters:

(i don’t believe this theory but i still wanted to include this clue for those who do.)

in this episode, we see Lila transforming herself into a completely different person; she literally looks nothing like her usual appearance. this could strengthen the theory that Lila not only akumatizes herself as Aglae, but also disguises herself as her. on top of that, in this episode we see Lila inside the airplane while Aglae is nowhere to be seen.

this is for those against the theory:

however, there are several details that weaken this theory. Kagami, Diane, and Prem also don’t appear in the episode, and that obviously doesn’t mean they are secretly Lila. additionally, even when Lila adopts different identities, she still tends to keep certain physical traits, especially her large eyes. no matter what disguise or persona she uses, the size and shape of her eyes remain almost identical, whereas Aglae’s eyes are noticeably different.

let’s talk about the elephant in the room: Chloé. she came back and is still exactly the same person she used to be.

but the truly important part of this episode is what Noé says about her.

when Chloé decides to change the original plans (which were supposed to involve filming a movie) just so she can humiliate Sabrina, Marinette, and Zoé, Noé says:

and Audrey adds:

by the way, am I the only one who thought Chloé in this ep strongly resembled the Queen of Hearts from Alice in Wonderland? I promise, it’s relevant to what noe said in this episode.

The Queen of Hearts represents tyranny, abuse of power, and the absurdity of absolute authority. and honestly, that describes Chloé perfectly. since the very beginning of the series, we’ve constantly seen her abuse the power, privilege, and wealth she has.

The Queen of Hearts has subjects who obey all her orders out of fear. similarly, Chloé once had Sabrina, who did everything she asked because she was afraid of being alone. but now, in this season, we see that Chloé no longer controls just one person: she has an enormous fanbase thanks to her influencer persona, and even members within her community who share her cruelty, like Ray, Aurore, and Vincent.

on top of that, Chloé is akumatized into “The Queen of the Dreadzone,” and her power revolves entirely around instilling fear in the people around her. that is literally the essence of the Queen of Hearts: a ruler whose authority is sustained purely through terror.

even the design of The Queen of the Dreadzone strongly resembles the Queen of Hearts from Disney’s animated Alice in Wonderland.

and there’s another interesting detail: the reason the Queen says her iconic phrase “Off with their heads!” in both the book and the movie is because her subjects painted white roses red. in this episode, we literally see The Queen of the Dreadzone walking through a garden full of red roses, which adds even more visual and symbolic connections between Chloé and the Queen.

The Queen of Hearts is not only a character from Alice in Wonderland, she also exists within the traditional French playing card deck. the Queen represents high-ranking authority and public control, but she is inherently vulnerable to the King, who always outranks her. Chloé plays the role of the Queen of Hearts perfectly: she would be the one doing the dirty work, manipulating people and moving the pieces on the board, probably without even realizing that she herself is also being used.

because in traditional card games, the King always outranks the Queen. and if the Queen symbolizes Chloé, then that would imply that there is someone of an even higher rank pulling the strings from the shadows. while Chloé causes chaos publicly, the true “King” (Noé, Audrey, and the Kingdom) would be operating behind the scenes, using that chaos to advance the organization’s hidden agenda.

considering what Noé said, this practically confirms my theory that Chloé’s entire influencer identity was carefully built by Noé and Audrey so they could carry out both their plans and the Kingdom’s plans through her without her even realizing it, manipulating the masses through social media while simultaneously using Chloé as a distraction.

additionally, the movie Chloé is filming could very well be the same anti–Ladybug and Chat Noir movie that Noé previously wrote, since the episode never actually explains what’s the project Chloe is filming.

edit: In “Queen of the Dreadzone,” we are told what Chloé’s movie will be about: a musical based on her life and her experience as Queen Bee. HOWEVER, that doesn’t necessarily mean it can’t still be the movie Noé wrote. in his episode, he mentioned that the script was going to go through several changes, so it’s possible those changes turned the movie from being about Ladybug into one focused on Chloé instead, someone who clearly hates Ladybug. that would also work as propaganda against Ladybug and the heroes in general.

we also see Noé keeping the magical charm Ladybug gave to Chloé while they are on the airplane. we already know that he is the new Diamond, that he wants Gabriel’s company, and that he plans to create a movie to destroy Ladybug and Chat Noir’s reputation.

at the end of Season 5, the magical charm Ladybug gave to Gabriel allowed both him and Tomoe to track her while she was transformed, which ultimately led Gabriel to discover her identity. it’s possible that Noé is planning to repeat exactly what Gabriel and Tomoe once did.

something else worth mentioning is how similar the letters Lila sent to Sabrina and Max are to the one supposedly written by Gabriel for Adrien. in all of them, we can see very similar cursive handwriting, which could be an important clue. that makes it possible that the person who actually wrote and placed the letter inside Adrien’s photo album was Lila herself, with the intention of emotionally manipulating him and making him suffer.

now it’s time to talk about this episode’s post-credit scene.

for those who are confused about Lila’s plan: Sabine’s birthday takes place in Secret Protocol, and they will most likely celebrate it in China alongside Marinette’s uncle. since Lila already seems to suspect that Marinette is Ladybug, we can assume she’s using this situation as the perfect opportunity to confirm it.

there are two possibilities:

1. she akumatizes someone in Paris while Marinette is in China. if Ladybug does not appear or if Ladybug does appear and Marinette is nowhere to be found that could confirm to Lila that Marinette truly is Ladybug.

2. she akumatizes someone directly in China in order to observe whether Ladybug appears while Marinette mysteriously disappears during the attack.

whatever is the case, then it could also explain the leak from Nemesis involving Two Marinette’s and Chat Noir.
