So fascinated that Wick, who’s around 30, has a little brother who is young enough that he wraps his arms around Wick's legs. Like, that’s at least a 20 year age gap, which really makes me wonder at the age of Iris.
iris halovar. what is your deal.
wick's mom fascinates me. she seems to truly believe in the candescent creed, recites verses all the time, read wick bedtime stories, but also it was her argument that allowed wick to grow up ignorant so she must've known that something was going on in the basement. she quotes the holy book to yanessa. yanessa hates her.
what is your deal iris halovar. i need to know
you're my little beam
there seems to be a pattern emerging here

Big Swing Theory: Hollis Kinnywater's mistress is Iris Halovar
Celebrates Candlefeast
See No Evil connection
"My mistress is not from around here and is ever fascinated by elements of faith." Iris is obsessed with the Creed even though she knows it's made up, and while the Halovar stronghold is in Dol-Makjar, she may have been brought in from elsewhere to marry Godard
Wanted to talk with Wick and thought the Schemers might be able to arrange that, suggesting insider information that the Halovars suspected Hal
Knife and Palette Pigments. Colors. Rainbow. Iris
Floral arrangements. Flowers. Iris
Speaking of the name "Iris", the owner of a mythological name like that would fit in well with Thjazi and Mara
Iris's interpretation of the Creed is the kindest, and since she married into the family, it's possible she didn't find out just how bad they were until it was too late to protect her eldest child's innocence. Wick mentioned his little brother hasn't been brought into the fold, so it's possible that Zebani is the odd one out in terms of exposure to bad influences
"Oh, my mistress in no condition to attend a gala." It could be that Wick was told the truth behind Iris's back, and she was punished for her (and his) reaction. Sure enough, Iris and Godard are not described at the gala
"My mistress does not exactly truck in gold." Iris Halovar is rich AF. She doesn't need anybody's gold. She also may not be able to exchange gold freely if her use of Halovar funds is surveilled
"Some might say that all my mistress has ever done is tamper." Iris is in a very good position to tamper, and she's shown an incredible capacity to lie despite not coming by it as honestly as her husband or children
I wonder if the Tachonis bloodline has so many people in it is because this (ascending themselves) has been a generational plan all along or if Primus and his brother were born and these two specific brothers battled it out for The Worst Husband Award and Best Abusive Father mug and their parents never broke their competitive beefs apart
Like?? Where are the mothers?? Where is Occtis’ mom who (we can assume) gave birth to all 8 kids as Occtis has been pretty forthcoming about his familiar details and has never once said half-siblings the way Hal has referred to Thjazi once. Is she dead?? Was she a sacrifice having married in and therefore may not have been a sorcerer?? Where is Occtis’ Aunt, the numbers’ cousins mom?? Are they chill and calm having pumped out all these kids and seeing them get murdered and sacrificed and marionette’d or were they purposely told to perform their wifely duties with childbearing and to have as many as possible to the point it may have killed them???
Cause like the Halovars are doing arranged marriages but all the other houses seem to be fucking normal about romance and sex and if you want to have a family. It’s just these two houses in particular that are super controlling with the whole serving a purpose to the generational family thing
No but actually let’s talk about Iris Halovar, because we know so little about her but the entire concept of her is so incredibly compelling. Who was she, before she married Wick’s father? I suspect that, like this girl Wick’s supposed to marry, her family had something Yanessa and the Creed wanted, but it is made clear that Iris is not being deceived like most of the Creed’s followers - she knows the secrets, she knows where the filament comes from, she knows the purpose of Yanessa’s words, and she believes ANYWAY.
Was her family a vassal house of the Halovars, in the days before the shapers war? Did they also venerate the god of the Sun?
is she going along with this because the feral angel in the basement is the closest thing that remains to true divinity, so she doesn’t care if Yanessa is bullshitting most of the Creed? Does she, like Wick, see something true in the Creed and feel like it’s worthwhile even if Yanessa isn’t?
did her family sell her off to the halovars to be an heir-producing machine in exchange for political sway, or did she see an opportunity to have the blood of Actual Divinity in her children and jump at it? Is she trying to build a kind of sainthood around herself, as the mother of the Creed’s Annointed Messenger? Did she have hopes for her husband, before it became obvious that he was entirely under his mother’s influence? Did she have hopes for her first child? The daughter she was not allowed to raise the way she wanted? Yanessa has such open disdain for her - surely Wick’s sister, who is so enmeshed in all the seedy parts of things, has been hearing this sort of thing about her mother for years. Does she have any kind of relationship with Iris?
how exactly did she convince Yanessa to let her have more or less free reign to raise Wick the way she saw fit? He doesn’t seem to have any affectionate childhood memories of his father - his mother has clearly been the primary influence in his life. Did she have to beg or bargain? Did she mean it, when she suggested that keeping him ignorant would be good for the Halovars, politically? Or was she TRYING to generate a schism? Did she realize that a true believer would inevitably be incompatible with the way Yanessa is doing things? Was it out of true religious conviction, or a desire to wrest control of the narrative?
what is your DEAL, Iris Halovar??????? I NEED to KNOW!!!!
