Iris barely looked at him as he climbed into the car. “There’s a wrinkle on your vest.”
“There is not.”
“Hmpf.” Iris glanced at the driver before studying her nails again. “Regardless.” She waved her hand with a flourish. “I hope you aren’t this flippant about the ceremony.”
“He’s my brother.” Maven leaned against the windowsill. “I want what’s best for him.”
“And your best friend.” She cocked her head. “You must be so happy for them.”
His throat tightened. Iris was no fool: she knew about their history, the way Mare had almost been his so many times. The way they’d always blurred the line between friends and more, never quite managing to step past it. The way they’d always decided it was better not to try.
“My parents will probably want a wedding in a few months.” Iris sighed, leaning back. “Do try not to mess it up.”
If only. His lips tugged, a smile false as the rest of him. “Oh, I assure you, I’m not the one who should be worried about that.”
If he offended her, it didn’t show. Iris propped her chin, studying his suit for the first time. “Wearing white to a wedding, huh?”
Maven shrugged. “What can I say? I feel like a bride.”

3. characters you would marry in an instant?
it takes me a lot longer than an instant to decide to marry someone + i would only do it if i know them extremely well, so realistically there isn't any fictional characters that i'd marry. i do think roden would be a good character to be married to as well as radu from the conqueror's saga though (not for me personally, just from a 3rd person perspective)
8. do you prefer happy, bittersweet, or sad endings?
bittersweet!! it feels more thoughtful and leaves more of an emotional impact on me <3
12. if you could change one ending to a book/show/game/etc, what would you change about it?
the ending of war storm probably. i don't mind how it worked out, but it would have been interesting if there was a bit more struggle before their victory rather than iris and her mom just giving up from the scarlet guard attacking their fleet
there would be a couple things i'd change for the ascendance series too but the entirety of tsc is way too big to start and the way it ended wasn't a bad conclusion for the canon storyline since the ending was also already stated in tst
