A few rude someones have taken the liberty to attack other users mainly on two points: for liking specific pairs and ships; for writing fanfictions in a "free" and non canon compliant way.

This is unacceptable. This behaviour is nothing more than bullying and mobbing and toxic.

What gives you the right to wake up one day and decide to tear down someone just for the sake of feeling powerful? Do you know who does this sort of things? Oppressors. Toxic oppressors and bullies and people who feel the need to tear down others to feel important.

You are allowed not to like a ship, a specific pair, canon or not, or even not to like the way someone writes. Just don't read those contents. Move on.

I mean...the best you could do would be to give some useful and constructive advice. And yet, shaming someone for the way they choose to interpret and write their own stories is not a constructive advice. Shaming someone for liking or creating content for a specific ship, maybe just because the story calls for it, is not constructive.

So if you cannot give a simple constructive advice, please, move on. You are doing everyone a favor: to yourself, to the author or artist and to the fans.

If you can't say something nice, say nothing at all.

If someone likes a ship that you do not like, it takes nothing away from you, it does not harm you, it does not take away any of your rights (I'm not referring to clearly criminal kind of pairing, I'm even ashamed of having to state this, but you never know these days).

There is a saying that a right is only such untill you harm the rights of others. Then you lose the right to exercise that specific right. (Does it even make sense? Not sure anymore). Therefore, the right to your own opinion ends the very moment when, by expressing it, you are harming (read harassing) others, whose only fault was to put themselves on the line by producing content.

Am I being harsh? Probably. Is it necessary? Yes.

These things that have been happening throughout various social medias are no less than cyberbulling instances and they cannot be tolerated.

It's not a matter of silencing opinions: I'm open to read 10.000 words essays on why you like or not like a ship. But sending nasty comments to content creators is such a coward move that provides nothing to the discussion, only hurt and sorrow and it is, I repeat, unacceptable for a sentient, modern adult. You demand to be provided with contents, but only the kind of content you say it's right, and you give back nothing (no content, no contribution to a debate) you just take the liberty to take something away form others (the joy and hope that comes from sharing contents you love and you created or someone you like created in a safe environment of people with shared interests).

Do you read the words I used: demand, give nothing back, take the liberty... I didn't use those words randomly. How do these words make you feel? Are you starting to understand?
