Tony didn’t love sharing lab space. Honestly, was there anyone who did? Anyone who’s had the chance to work in any kind of lab would be the type of person to be a bit specific about their things. And where their things were kept. And who touched their things. Some were worse about it than others. It was a personal preference.
But sometimes.. sometimes you like a person enough to deal with whatever idiotic feelings come up when sharing a lab space with them. Not that Tony was very good at letting people know he liked them. In fact, he was terrible at it. There was a lifetime’s worth of evidence to support that claim.
One way he could at least try to let people know he opposite-of-disliked them was to casually, and of course generously, offer some time in his lab. Maybe while he was even there. He did enjoy being around other smart people from time to time.
Riri had her own space, and Tony knew that. But he also knew that it was rude to invite yourself over, so that meant that she would have to come to him.
“I thought I could pick your brain about the particle size for the nanotech. Just for efficiency’s sake— everything is working the way it’s supposed to.” That was Tony’s greeting when she showed up. “Per usual, all I ask is that you don’t break anything. But I won’t hold it against you if you do.”
