Looks like that GOP war on āwokeā liberals isn't going to be the rocket fuel in 2024 Republicans have been betting it would be.
A new USA Today/Ipsos poll found that a 56% majority of Americans view the term āwokeā in a positive light, connoting being "informed, educated on, and aware of social injustices." Three-fourths of Democrats viewed the term that way, as did 51% of independents and more than a third of Republicans.
On the flip side, 39% of respondents, including 56% of Republicans, viewed the term more negatively as being "overly political correct" and policing others' words.
That's a pretty lackluster issue to mount a rallying cry onāRepublicans just narrowly clear riling up a majority of their base with the term. Basically, anyone who isn't mainlining Fox News isn't going to be particularly persuaded to vote Republican because of their take on woke liberals.
A new poll by USA Today/Ipsos Poll conducted between March 3rd and 5th reveal that the GOP's "war on 'wokeness'" isn't popular, with 56% viewing woke positively and 39% viewing it negatively.
The ABC News/Ipsos poll also found that 60% of those surveyed believed the House select committee is conducting a "fair and impartial" investigation.

Nearly six in 10 Americans believe former President Donald Trump should be charged with a crime for his role in the Jan. 6 attack on the U.S. Capitol, according to a new poll released Sunday.
The findings by the ABC News/Ipsos survey reveal a very slight uptick in support for prosecution of Trump since the start of televised hearings by the House select committee investigating the insurrection.
The new poll, conducted June 17 and 18, found that 58% of those surveyed believe Trump should be charged with a crime for his role. An ABC News/Washington Post poll conducted in April found that 52% of those surveyed thought the same.
The latest poll also found that 58% of Americans believe Trump bears either a āgreat dealā or a āgood amountā of responsibility for the events of Jan. 6 last year. Another 17% believes Trump bears ājust someā responsibility.
According to the latest ABC News/Ipsos poll that was conducted on June 17th and 18th, 58% of those surveyed say that Donald Trump should be charged for his role in inciting the January 6th Insurrection.Ā
