Is it worth it to invest in an ipad for procreate to start creating digital art?
oh man i love my ipad lmao i think so 100%
i have the 12.9 inch one and i know a bunch of reviews say it’s heavy or too big to carry around but i don’t think so at all, i think it’s pretty light, but i’m home most of the time so if you travel a lot maybe look into a smaller size...but the 12.9 is the size of an 8.5x11 piece of paper so i don’t think it’s too bad
one of the main reasons i got the ipad is because i fucked up my wrist last year by putting too much pressure on it and my wacom tablet wasn’t doing me any favors. since i got the ipad last summer, my drawing hand is a lot better now because i can make big strokes on a smooth surface so that’s been really nice with the large size as well because there’s more drawing space and my wrist won’t be sitting at the edge of the screen with the smaller one
the only thing i will warn about it is that the colors are SO nice and vibrant on the screen which seems like a strange critique but i quickly realized that the colors on other screens will not be as vibrant, so i always have to adjust the saturation on photoshop on my macbook just slightly which is kind of annoying but that’s all i hate about it
so yes. if you can afford it, i say do it. i stared at the wall for maybe a day after paying for it lmao but it’s one of the best purchases i’ve made. if you’re going to work with it all the time, go for it! but if you can’t, its not a big deal, you can still make digital art without it. it’s just convenient
