ok lots of thoughts today. Visi is constantly causing herself more problems in an attempt to keep herself stable, & it's expertly done.
- smokes. generally bad for breathing, chemically addictive, and can land you with incurable illnesses including COPD & Cancers in lots of places. also has a calming ritual and social practice to it, which acts as a huge reason addicts don't want to use patches.
- uses an inhaler when she's short of breath. specifically when it's because of holding hers so long while doing strenuous activity. holding your breath for lengths of time & doing exercise is actually beneficial for asthmatics (source: mom. asthmatic). using oral steroids afterwards may alleviate the discomfort, but this kind of shortness of breath is not the intended use. you're supposed to recover from it naturally if at all possible, and only use a rescue inhaler if you're unable to do so. she's actively weakening her lungs by using it for non-emergency relief.
- the whole thing with the enhancements & all the terrible stuff done to keep them.
