I initially chose the Saiga-12, another Russian shotgun in 12-gauge with higher capacity, from 12 round magazines to 20 round drums. But I realized, if he really needed to reload, he'd just drop the fucking thing and start swinging his fists or the Tetsaiga. Plus, a bandolier with the aforementioned assortment of rounds makes a weapon of, though low capacity, high uptime (single loading into the chamber), and also high versatility, something you can't really do with the magazine fed nature of the Saiga-12.

KAGOME: Steyr Scout (and SIG P320)

Kagome is undeniably the group's support. She keeps an eye out for the Shikon Shard, fucks shit up with the bow when needed, but otherwise, she can't provide much physical strength. In a weapon, I think she'd want something reliable, mobile, and able to help her take out more demons, but also something to help her if demons get close.

I chose the Steyr Scout because I would say, despite it's undeniable strength, the bow limits her. A bow only fires so fast, and you can only have so many arrows. The Scout is explicitly designed for the thought of "Shoot and Move", being made with the thought of (oddly enough) African Poaching in mind, coming from the thought of an ideal rifle from a fellow in the 1800's who had a penchant for it.

In the Sahara, you want to be able to take distant shots on game, right? Hence the bolt-action design, integrated bipod (the front grip part actually folds out) and magnified optic. As well as this, you also want to be able to quickly point and shoot at a Rhino or something if it's rushing you, right? Thus, it has a low powered "quick" acquisition scope, only being 3.5x zoom, and, if you need to reload, and an extra magazine in the stock.

Now, I really couldn't see Kagome lugging around some heavy as hell, massive recoil "Fuck You" anti-material rifle, hence why the Scout was the first thing to come to mind. It has a low weight, designed for long distance hauling through the desert, and also a relatively lower caliber size, from 5.56 (practically no recoil) to .308 (decent recoil, but also traditional round for a marksman's rifle). I don't imagine Kagome would like the recoil of a round designed to break through fucking steel (.50 BMG, 12.7x108, so on, utterly fucking massive rounds), much preferring the lighter rounds of battle rifles.

In addition to this, I also say the Sig Sauer P320 AXG Classic. Although this choice is 100% personal bias, there is some reasoning behind it. Firstly, I say a pistol in the first place because I can't imagine she wants to have two weapons of slow firing speeds if a demon gets close. Secondly, I say a 9mm explicitly because of weight, recoil, and capacity, being low in the first two and high in the third. Lastly, I choose this specific firearm because I think Kagome would take pride in her firearms, wanting something nice. I am 100% biased because I think this gun is beautiful, and I want it really badly. But also, I chose it because it is a nice looking, practical weapon, with good accuracy, and good reliability. To be totally honest, this gun only came after I realized the specifications she'd want, it was the first thing to pop in my mind.

MIROKU: FN Herstal P90

Miroku, this was honestly kinda an iffy choice really. His deal is mainly dealing with large swaths of demons, something I think he would appreciate another way of going about than his (very often countered) Wind Tunnel. My main issue came from the fact that, I don't see him carrying a gun.

Although Miroku is much more often fighting rather than not, at the end of the day, he is still a monk. I can see him carrying a gun, yes, but not one that is egregiously... gun, y'know? He seems like he wouldn't want something that's undeniably violent. His appearance from the outside is just an ordinary monk. Now imagine him with some massive machine gun. Totally out of place, right? It'd fit his role perfectly, dealing with the swaths of demons, but still able to do a lot to a single target. Suppressive, but also really strong. But he's a monk, and also I just don't see him lugging something that heavy everywhere.

Hence, my choice of the P90. It's designed to be small and lightweight, but still with high capacity and penetrative power. The P90 is a PDW (Personal Defense Weapon) with a 50 round capacity of the proprietary 5.7x28 caliber round.

A massive part of this choice is the concealability. Miroku is a monk, no shit, but he takes this liberally. Despite this, I still feel he would abjure being seen as a soldier, something having a more "gun" gun would 100% do. Having something he could easily store in his robe is something he would adore.

Think about it from his perspective. Yes, he takes his monk business lightly, but he only kinda does this to cope from his constant fear of the wind tunnel consuming him. He is still born and raised a monk, and he isn't born to fight. He's not opposed to it, wishing to avenge his lineage and stop the curse, but I feel becoming a soldier, a symbol of violence, is far too past the line for him.

But anyways, he would probably appreciate the Saimyosho killing aspect as well, because think about it. How many times is he forbidden from using the wind tunnel simply because of their presence?

SANGO: FN Herstal FAL

Sango. A warrior who has had far too much blood in their life to enjoy it. They fight for the righteous cause, but something tells me they wish they didn't have to. I feel like they would be the most soldier like in the usage of their firearm, tight bursts of fire, accurate, constant shots, just taking out demons as need be.

For this reason, I choose the FN FAL. Also known as the "Right Hand of the Free World", the FN FAL was a weapon born of peace and a wish to never fight again, made in the rapid military development following the end of World War 2. It is a very symbolic weapon, sadly a symbolism you don't see often. It is indicative of a soldier vying for peace, a union of nations after ungodly violence. It was made as a byproduct of the joining of nations for their natural defense to never have a conflict like the one they had just faced again. It's not a spear, it is a shield.

There is other weapons better suited for a soldier, the AK-74M or a variation thereof, or the M4 or a variation thereof, and there is a reason the FAL isn't seen often in modern conflicts, it is outdated somewhat by modern systems. In full-auto, it's nearly uncontrollable, and it's limited by a 20 round magazine capacity, both thanks to firing .308, but once more, those are weapons of war. This is a weapon of peace.

Despite the previously mentioned flaws, I still think Sango would make good use of it. She is a disciplined soldier, literally raised to be one, so I can't imagine it'd be hard for her to learn how to shoot. A gun is a gun, and a rifle is a rifle, so really it isn't extremely important what it is, but really what sold me that Sango would use this was the symbolism behind it. Oh, that and the fact it has a carrying handle.
