Luckily I live in Ireland so the summers aren't too bad for me right now, but I also get reverse sad. My mom gets regular sad, so between the two of us someone in the house is guaranteed to be having a bad time all year round.
We are all simply plants with competing needs for different levels of sunlight. ):

I'm sorry, I don't speak Spanish but I was trying to follow the gist of your Web Martin post based on my knowledge of other Latin based languages, but then this sentence:
Smacked me in the face as the only words I understood in a whole paragraph and now I desperately want to know the context.
JJFKSJDJS That he was right is in reference to this
scene; my mutual and I were discussing how JM could be an engaging dynamic if the narrative acknowledged their dysfunctionality, especially how Jon's need for Martin to be okay very straightforwardly comes across as him feeling guilty for the deaths of Tim and Sasha and projecting his humanity onto him.
That he was sexy, well... That's just a universal fact.
I’m going to caveat that I have written so many words I don’t know if any of these are MOST anything but! They are the ones that come to mind!
🌹 Share your most poetic line.
He could have endured a quiet, wordless death in the grave of our habits.
- from Grey Desert Mythos, “most poetic” is a high bar but I do think about this line constantly.
🤝 Share a line that introduces a character.
Digging some personal stuff out, but here’s Sentenza’s introduction from my original novel:
The other man, who has been hanging behind Nia, now steps forward to study the body— tilting his head. His cheekbones are so sunken she could nearly map his skull just by observing him. It's then she notices his left eye is made of glass.
He catches her gaze just as she has this realization, the narrowing of his right eye giving her a strange reassurance. She looks away, seeking out her notebook to make a sketch of the marks on the corpse’s neck.
☂️ Share your favorite description of an object.
This is breaking the “line” restriction significantly HOWEVER I really enjoy writing gamestyle fic, so from Ch 3 of my mathematician AU to Disco Elysium, Oesterle’s Derealization Claim:
*
JOYCE MESSIER - Your eyes fall on a smartly dressed woman sitting in a crisp and neat booth labelled Wild Pines Group. A stack of cards sits neatly on the edge, meant to be inviting. Beside it is a pile of odd looking objects, three-pronged and rounded on all edges.
- Walk over to the booth and grab one of the funny little objects.
- Walk over to the booth and grab one of the little cards.
- Walk over to the booth and talk to the woman.
YOU - You make a bee-line for the pile of toys, taking one in hand to fiddle with it. Your fingers are a little clumsy with it. You sense from the way it moves that it’s supposed to do *something*.
TOY MODEL [Easy: Failure] - Umm….not totally sure. What if you put it on the ground?
JOYCE MESSIER - The woman on the desk leans over to watch you squat down and drop the toy. “Oh, hello. You must be Dr. Du Bois.”
- “Yes, that’s me. How do you know my name?”
- “What’s this funky little object?”
- Say nothing, try to fiddle with the object more on the ground.
JOYCE MESSIER - “I’m familiar with your...more passionate public outreach,” her eyes linger on your disco-ass mustache as you straighten up, “And you are quite visually distinctive.”
YOU - You resist the urge to groan. You should have shaved when you shuffled out of the Whirling-in-Rags. Or put on a disguise. Being in a room where everyone knows you except *you* is like living a nightmare.
SYNTHESIS [Trivial: Success] - What threads you bring together in nightmare are far, *far* worse and winding.
PASSION [Medium: Success] - We are *not* going there right now.
- “You’re in a booth”
- “Tell me about Wild Pines. What do you do?”
- “What else can you tell me about this conference?”
JOYCE MESSIER - “I am. I’m representing the Wild Pines Group, one of the sponsors of the conference,” she eyes you with a half-smile, “I see you like the fidget spinners. Here, the idea is you hold them like this.”
She pinches the object in its center, index finger aloft, and then uses it to nudge the object into a nice whirl. It’s then you notice the emblazoned logo of the Pine in the center of yours.
- Whirl your spinner.
- “Actually this is stupid.” (Drop the spinner)
TOY MODEL - Oh, I love this! I wonder what kind of rotational speed we can get.
CALCULATOR [Challenging: Failure] - 416 m/s. Wait. No. Not even close.

Not to start an argument but I kind of felt like Annabelle's importance WAS foreshadowed. The Web's been hinted at being behind the scenes constantly only for it not to be elaborated on (Mr Spider, the lighter, Hilltop Road), it would feel weird to me if it wasn't a big thing at the end.
No, I agree! What I meant was more that I felt her relevance should be mostly retroactive, if I'm explaining myself properly. Which might still be the case in canon. And, more importantly, it'd be more appropriate for her to mostly do things off-screen rather than directly intervene, which, again, might still be the case in canon. I don't think Annabelle's storyline is going to disappoint, necessarily; my post was about what I think would be one of the worst-case scenarios (Annabelle winning and all the other plot threads being rendered anticlimactically irrelevant). I don't know if I'm explaining myself very well.
I forgot this was in my inbox! Sorry for the delay.
Lonelyeyes
When or if I started shipping it: I was already aware of the ship thanks to memes, and I found the concept hilarious, so pretty much from the beginning.
My thoughts: Apologies for the homestuck, but they're flush/pitch vacillating. Okay, I love that their patrons are such opposites, and I love the new meaning the mortifying ordeal quote takes when it's about them. All Jonahlias ships have a distinct tragic beauty that Loneyeyes certainly possesses; it is the tragedy that comes when you have a character whose ambition and egoism force him to sacrifice everything he once had in pursuit of a selfish goal and may not even realise what he's lost. Whew. On a more... lighthearted note, the divorce jokes are fucking hilarious; they absolutely do exude divorcee energy, and it's great.
What makes me happy about them: The idea of them getting brunch with Simon and being funky and evil.
What makes me sad about them: I was going to say more about the inherent tragedy of being Jonah Magnus, but then I remembered that Peter died due to Elias's plans, so that.
Elias: Oh, no, my selfishness and hubris mean that I will never again have meaningful connections with others; I am so miserable.
Peter, who literally just died: I'm begging you to think for two seconds and realise which one of us is having the worse day.
Things done in fanfic that annoys me: Hmm, I'm not a fan of Mordechai!Peter, especially since it was jossed.
Things I look for in a fanfic: Good characterisation (I'm quite picky about that) and either humour, angst, or both.
My kinks: I have read only a handful of E-rated Lonelyeyes fics, so a larger sample size is needed. 😔
Who I'd be comfortable them ending up with, if not each other: Both Jonelias and Jonpeter are very good.
My happily ever after for them: Oh boy, I don't think they can have a happily ever after if that makes sense. Both the divorce jokes and more serious explorations of their relationship reflect a kind of instability in their dynamic that I find fascinating and inextricable from the ship. I believe they can be happy together, but not ever after.
Jon
How I feel about this character: Jon! My boy! The only alive main character I care about besides the obvious one! I love him; I love to project onto him.
All the people I ship romantically with this character: Ohh, man. In no particular order: Elias, Peter, Michael, Gerry, Sasha, Georgie, Melanie, Tim, and Oliver. I do think some of these work better as friendships, but I have some level of investment in all of these characters as romantic partners for him.
My non-romantic OTP for them: Jon and the Admiral :pleading:
My unpopular opinion about this character: I don't think this one is that unpopular, but it's the closest thing to an unpopular Jon opinion I have: he should go apeshit on everyone who blamed and condemned him during season four, and also on Martin for being insensitive during act two of season five.
One thing I wished happened/had happened with this character in canon: I wish they hadn't gone for canon requited J*nmartin. I believe they work better as friends, and it rubs me the wrong way that it seemed like they were setting it up for Jon to love Martin as a projection of his humanity and as his last original assistant instead of as a partner, only for this angle to never be addressed. Disclaimer: I'm not saying it's wrong to enjoy their relationship; those are just my thoughts. I would have liked to see, at least, some sort of coworkers to lovers to friends arc (because yes, I think they skipped over the "friends" stage and went straight from coworkers to lovers). Actually, this is my unpopular Jon opinion.
