@sarcasmasadefense | For Becker
Emily needed help.
She couldn’t talk to Matt about her particular problem for obvious reasons and she wasn’t ready to get plastered with a million questions by Jess. Abby might have been able to hold back a bit but she still felt uncomfortable asking her. Becker at least she felt would be able to keep it to himself. Well at least longer than either of her newer female friends. And Connor would spill the beans immediately and knowing her luck directly to Matt before she’d even gotten to take the thing. And Lester of course was out of the question. Though it was always interesting to see his reactions to personal situations.
So yes. Becker was her best choice.
❝ I need a pregnancy test. ❞
It was said without any preface. She’d already been pacing out in the hall and along the corridors for the past several hours since returning from the latest excursion trying to figure out what and who to approach about her possible trouble. Finally she’d simply opened the door and strode into her friend’s office.
Coming to this new time she’d had several crash courses from her friends about the changes in history and time for several subjects. ( Women’s rights and sex being two things that Abby and Jess focused on very enthusiastically. She was pretty sure it had taken a whole week for her face to completely return to it’s normal colour after the sex conversations. Not that she was a prude. It was just very different talking about it when it involved ideas of someone she actually was attracted to. )
At first it had seemed as if she’d had just a simple cold or that her period ( which still seemed to be a bit of a taboo subject at least amongst males ) was around the corner.
It wasn’t until a few days ago that she realized there was a strong possibility that she might be with child. Her period had still not shown itself which was a very good clue. The problem was she had no idea what to do. Abby and Jess had also made sure she’d gotten introduced to a good portion of new technology during their talks; a phone being a huge help to her. Well most of the time. She was a quick study but there was a lot to learn. After some time she’d decided to try ‘goggle’ or whatever it was called and had discovered that pregnancy tests were a solid and real thing now. Or at least better than what they’d had available in her time originally.
Her problem was procuring one without alerting Matt or any of her talkative friends. She still had not officially earned her driver’s license and had to be driven around by Matt to and from work seeing as they were staying together. On occassion she’d get a ride from Jess to a Girl’s Night but Matt was her main mode of transportation. It seemed as if everyone knew where she was 24/7 so it was proving hard for her to sneak off and try and procure one herself.
Which is why she needed help.
