Design Ethics, Week 2
To round out our unit on ethics, we're watching talks from three different Interaction conferences: 18, 19, & 21. They cover disability stigmas, dark patterns, sustainability, and cognitive bias. Then we let Mike Monteiro send us off with a kick in the pants. Please, sir, may I have another?

In case you weren’t paying attention, there were some important announcements you should know about.
Interaction 18, which will be held in Lyon, France, February 3rd through the 8th, published their call for proposals. You can submit 7-minute, 15-minute, and 35-minute talks, as well as 4-hour and 8-hour workshops. The deadline to submit is September 13th. Workshop applicants will be notified October 13th, and talk applicants will be notified November 3rd. All selected speakers will receive free registration. Workshop leaders get 50% of the proceeds from their workshop, and speakers will receive and honorarium. And don’t forget that the Interaction Awards submissions are open until September 15th.
Midwest UX has published its call for cities to host the 2018 conference. I didn’t see a deadline for that, but the winning city will be announced at this year’s conference in Cincinnati, October 12th through the 14th. Tickets are still available.
