The Prague Astronomical Clock can be seen on the southern side of Old Town Hall Tower (Swipe for detailed picture). The clock, also known as Prague Orloj or The Horologe (derives into “Arloji” in Bahasa Indonesia, meaning: “clock”), is a medieval astronomical clock and the oldest clock that still operating. The clock was first installed in 1410, making it the third-oldest astronomical clock in the world. - The clock mechanism has three main components — the astronomical dial, representing the position of the Sun and Moon in the sky and displaying various astronomical details; statues of various Catholic saints stand on either side of the clock; "The Walk of the Apostles", a clockwork hourly show of figures of the Apostles and other moving sculptures, notably a figure of a skeleton, representing Death, striking the time; and a calendar dial with medallions representing the months. According to local legend, the city will suffer if the clock is neglected and its good operation is placed in jeopardy; a ghost, mounted on the clock, was supposed to nod its head in confirmation. - - (13/10/2018) . . . . . . . . . . . . . #prague #czechrepublic #instaprague #instaczech #europe #eurotrip #latepost #throwback #instagood #instadaily #igers #photooftheday #photography #ongooglemaps #explore #exploreeurope #exploringeurope #beautifuldestinations #shotoniphone #beautifulview #beautifuleurope #voyaged #oldtown #pragueoldtown #oldtownhall #oldtownhallprague #astronomicalclock #pragueorloj #pragueworld #clock (at Astronomical Tower, Prague) https://www.instagram.com/p/B4bFHxdhl93/?igshid=1btl1z0dur4yz
