The Monster fandom (on Tumblr) has a backstabbing and contempt problem.
Iβm posting this from an old account because many of you blocked my main. If blocking is βjust curating your experience,β then it shouldnβt be used to isolate someone while you keep talking about them indirectly.
Iβm not interested in whisper networks or vague moral accusations. If you disagree with something Iβve written, respond to the argument with specifics, not to a caricature, not to vibes, and not through third-hand narratives. Itβs honestly embarrassing how some of you participated in the exact dunking behavior I named in the very post you were responding to. Too complicated to engage critically? Or a matter of willful ignorance? Too cool to bother? A + B = ???
Itβs especially ugly when it comes from people who benefited from my goodwill (you know what I mean) and then joined the pile-on or from people I gave space to talk things over who then treated me like an idiot and helped reward the dunking with likes/reblogs.
Whatβs also telling: only a few of you actually asked what was going on. Itβs easier to like/reblog the cool and unbothered post, follow the vibe and call everything fandom drama LOL, because confrontation scares you more than the fact that someone might actually get hurt.
Some of you are cruel to real people over fictional characters. And then you have the audacity to talk about how Monster teaches the importance of kindness or how youβre different from the sigma Johan-worshipping edgelords with no media literacy.
Keep dunking, sneering, and sending hostile anons that cosplay as thoughtful. Iβm confident enough not to let it silence me. But plenty of people will be silenced; and no, acting chill and surface-level friendly doesnβt change that.
Keep that in mind. Oh, important! Just because you donβt see something doesnβt mean it doesnβt exist. A lesson Lunge needed to learn or something.
Bonus: no context 20th Century Boys. GUTALALA SUDALALA!Β
