We joked around with a literal interpretation of DREAMERS’ last single Die Happy and stated that we could truly walk off this earth content now that we’ve heard the perky rollicking pop rock jam, but of course it was foolish banter on our part. If that had happened, we would have had to miss out on DREAMERS new album Launch Fly Land, out soon on April 26th! And we would have missed out on the Los Angeles act’s new song, Insomniac! That would have been a calamity, considering how good this anthemic soaring alt rock song is, with its shades of Grouplove-like exulted choruses and its bristly thick layers of glorious guitar. Of the song, the band’s Nick Wold notes, “I’ve always been obsessed with sleep and dreams. From practicing lucid dreaming to drawing artistic inspiration from the bizarre mind trips we have each night. It’s a big part of what attracted me to the name Dreamers. ‘Insomniac’ is about lying awake unable to sleep, unable to quiet the mind, caught in the spider web of doubts, loneliness and haunting memories.” Pre-order Launch Fly Land, here. The band will be spending their summer on the road with an expansive tour alongside 311 and Dirty Heads. Find out more, here.
