"Lory-"
"Go away Kee."
"But-"
"Go away Kee." I huffed, burying my face into the plump, soft glory that was my pillow. It was finally the weekend and I was looking forward to getting to sleep in for a few hours.
But, a certain dark-haired Prince had other ideas.
Just as I was beginning to fall back down the wondrous chasm of sleep, the door of my bedroom was thrown open with a loud thump as Kili marched in. "Lorelei, you can't just sleep all day!" He exclaimed, and I grumbled into my pillow.
"I want to, so therefore I will." I growled, pulling the blankets closer around me. Mahal, I would've thought Erebor would be warmer; what with all its forges constantly burning. Guess not.
Kili huffed, and mentally I could see the pout that I just knew was pulling his mouth downwards in a hangdog expression. "Amrâlimê..." He whined, "you promised to help me prank Uncle today..."
I let out a groan, momentarily raising my head just enough to catch a glimpse of the water clock sitting on my nightstand. A simple glance told me everything I needed to know and my head fell back into the pillow. "Kili it is barely sunrise. Bugger off."
The sound of footsteps told me that Kili was walking further into my room. "But that makes it morning, so you have to help me. You promised."
"I didn't promise to do it at the crack of dawn. That does not qualify as morning." I grumbled; words muffled by the pillow I had buried my head beneath. "Now bugger off."
Kili let out a pitiful sigh. "Lorelei, the prank won't work unless we do it now." He said petulantly, and I mumbled curses underneath my breath.
Forget the fact that I wore his courting braids in my hair. If this was what I faced by entering marriage with him, I wasn't going to do it. "Have Fili help you and let me go back to bed, Kili."
"But that won't work! Fili is busy with 'heir things'." Kili said, the soft pad of his boots giving away his movement as he drew nearer to me.
"I'm not getting out of bed at this ungodly hour."
"Just this once?"
"Never in your wildest dreams."
"Of course. We do much different things in my dreams."
"Kili!" I gasped, chancing a glance up from my pillow just in time to catch a glimpse of his cheeky smirk as he threw open my curtains to let in the blazing light of the rising sun.
I recoiled, pulling the blanket over my head as I cursed my choice of bedroom. Never had I thought I would regret being on the eastern side of Erebor.
"Time to get up, lovely lass." Kili murmured, and I grunted in response.
"Sweet talk isn't going to get you anywhere, you bastard." I grumbled, eliciting a dramatic gasp from Kili.
"You wound me with such words! I thought you loved me, dearest heart!" He exclaimed, and I rolled my eyes in exasperation.
"Cheeky twat."
"No! Please say it isn't true!"
"Kili, I will shave your stubble; let me go back to bed." I threatened, and footsteps broke the silence for a moment. Then there was silence.
I listened hard for any sound of Kili before deciding that he had taken my threat seriously and let me be. Letting out a sigh, I stretched luxuriously underneath my oh-so-warm covers as I prepared to fall back asleep.
Then I was brutally assaulted by a wave of ice-cold air. Letting out a shriek of mingled surprise and outrage, I shot upright, looking around for the blanket thief.
I found it in the form of Kili as he stood over my bed with my blanket clutched in his hands. I glared at him, propping my hands on my hips. "WHAT THE BLOODY HELL?! GIVE ME MY BLANKET BACK!" I screeched, then noticed that Kili's eyes weren't on my face.
Rather, they were fixated on my chest which happened to be clothed in a skin-tight tank top. I was fervently denying the fact that winter was steadily approaching. But that wasn't the only problem. In my sleep, the one of the straps had slipped off my shoulders to more fully reveal my bosom.
Hurriedly, I pulled the strap up and crossed my arms over my chest. Clearing my throat, I gave Kili a pointed look as he blinked and raised his gaze to my face. "Eyes up here if you don't mind." I said dryly, fighting the blush that was attempting to stain my cheeks.
Kili avoided my gaze; looking to the side as his face flushed tomato red. "S-sorry... I didn't..." He coughed awkwardly, biting his lip in an adorable gesture of embarrassment.
Raising an eyebrow, I nodded towards the blanket he still held in his hands. Kili was quick to hand it to me and I wrapped it around me; effectively hiding my chest from view. "Thank you. Just remember this the next time you go to wake me up."
A smirk began to tug at the corner of Kili's mouth, and he shot me a sly look. "I'll remember this for a long time, love. You're a bit bustier than I expected." He said, and my eyes widened with surprise as my mouth dropped open.
"Kili!" I gasped hoarsely, making him laugh mischievously.
"What? I'm a Dwarrow, we think about things like that!" He defended, making me shake my head in disbelief.
"I don't know what to do with you..." I groaned, and Kili's smirk widened.
"Oh, I could give you a few ideas, halw kurdu." He said suggestively, and I threw my pillow at him.
"Keep those thoughts for your wedding night, Kili! Now, get out and let me go back to sleep!" I said, blushing furiously.
Kili just laughed again, dodging the pillow. "Want me to join you? It's a bit cold in here." He teased, but turned away to walk towards the door of my room.
"As much as I would enjoy it, I don't think it would be wise. Now get out!" I said, flopping back down on the bed.
Kili just winked as he closed the door behind him. "I'll be back, love."
"Of course you will. You're like the plague..." I grumbled, closing my eyes as I attempted to salvage my interrupted sleep. If I was lucky, Kili wouldn't be back for another hour; he had the patience of an ant.
Perhaps this time he wouldn't strip my blanket off me.
