I was checking out Lovecraft's wiki page and was reminded of the comic you made ages ago about envying his ability to encourage his penpals and really establish a great connection with other writers. For whatever reason, that lingered in the back of my mind, and all these years later, in this modern and distant internet, I'm really resonating with that. That, more than anything else in your comics (which were a really formative part of my life) has really stuck with me.
Bit out of nowhere, but I wanted to try and express how big an impact your work has had on me.
Aw, thank you. ^_^ We have more and more access to people through social media, but it's harder to make connections than it was through message boards and Livejournal groups. And we have less and less time to properly foster those connections as everything speeds up and gets more distracting.
( I'm always amazed when people get Useful Life Lessons out of the Insecticomics. I was an underemployed twenty-something playing with toys and making dumb jokes! But I'm glad that it happens. :) )
( Twenty years later I'm still Not Great at keeping up with comments and messages the way I ought. I may just be a hermit. :p )
