As the years turned into centuries, Arlain bore the marks of her curse: wreath-like sigils carved into every joint, and one on her left ring finger—a symbol of a vow never meant to be completed. Her immortality cannot be broken by magic or blade. Only Tempus himself can undo what was done.

Hidden from history, Arlain developed her unique magic: Copy. Unrecognized in her youth, it allows her to replicate any magic type and match a person’s power level—for a time. But her power is tied to understanding. She must know what she’s copying, down to the soul. Her brilliance lies not in raw strength, but in comprehension and adaptation.

Despite her power, Arlain does not seek glory or vengeance. She only wants to be free. Free of the curse. Free of the centuries. Free to die.

But as darkness grows and the balance of the world begins to bend, Arlain senses a shift in the river of time. Perhaps Tempus is watching once more—and perhaps, at long last, she’ll find the end she was never allowed to reach.
