A small chuckle escaped Cerrin's throat. He should have known Eden wouldn't let him go easily, hell, she rarely did after a long night like the one she had just come home from. Not that he minded, of course, but he did have things to do today -- Mainly, a double shift at Grizzco...

But, putting his life in danger for some extra cash just didn't seem too preferable right now, especially when the alternative option was more time with his precious girlfriend.

“Frye drank it and survived. Why can’t I?” 

"So, what did you say this was called?" Looking over the strange object, wondering why it seemed so familiar to her. It seemed like old technology, yet... She couldn't quite place where she might have seen it before. Especially since her memories of her life before in Octo Valley were fuzzy.

Tako was doing her best to be careful with the flat disc, gasping softly when the light reflected across its surface in a brilliant rainbow. Her finger slid along the rim, then poked through the center hole. It was so light she could spin it around her knuckle, earning a giggle of amusement.

their skin bristles. the other’s words sting and burn, like something acidic tearing into their pliable flesh. they’re tired ; tired of music, tired of trying, tired of sleeping, waking, breathing, manoeuvring this lifeless husk of a rotten body that glistens sickly green in every glimmer of light. of the horrified stares that make them want to hide back underground, the wide berths everyone gives them in the street. they’re tired of being tired and tired of feeling nothing about it and not knowing anything about themself besides the feeling of vinyl under their fingers.

the dj’s voice is a low, rough sound, reverberating through their empty chest. their reddened fingers flex. tremors run through them intermittently, soft quakes rattling their sanitised form. a heavy sigh leaves their lips -- and their eyes look over their shades to meet the other’s.

Yikes. They were caught staring again. No point in letting it go now that eye contact has been made for this long. 

If we’re talking about the same exhibit I assume by headphones you mean the little stickers at the bottom of the glass. The problem with that theory is… Every one of the DNA strands has a sticker, and the three strands seem to correlate to each of the main ink-based critters in Splatoon. Inklings, Octos, and Salmonids.

At the top of the exhibit you can see some jars of fake tissue samples corresponding to the DNA strands.

If your theory was correct it would imply the Calamari Inkantation exists within all ink-based creatures within Splatoon.

There are stickers and logos all over Splatoon, and that does make it difficult to tell if specific stickers and images have any prominent significance. At first glance it does seem to be a squid sisters symbol, but looking closer I noticed that the image appears to be a squid-styled phone(or iPod) inside headphones. (Notice the white space for a button at the bottom of the phone)

As a final note, it seems that this might be an icon for an audio interface? It’s common for museums to give extra information on the displays via audio samples, or just to read aloud the accompanying passages and labels. The institute may have an app or program of sorts that does this, and the sticker shows that there’s more information on the DNA strands you can listen to! (Which would be a PHENOMENAL detail on Nintendo’s part gg)
