So I wiped the random business name that was on this letter opener my dad gave me. And I decided to have an experiment today!
First I grabbed some random coloring page stuff for EAH bc we only have a black and white printer
Lined them up to the shape of the letter opener
Scaled it
Printed it
And uh
Varied results
The basic method is like a temp tattoo
But with acetone
The first result was ... not great. Which I was kind of expecting
Ah yes like the terrible quality tattoos of fruit stripe gum.
Apple was wiped and done over and it turned out a tad better except the paper melded to the plastic in spots leaving a varied ink experience.
Things I learned. Some plastic melts to acetone way faster than others. And the results make it a bit more gummy.
The higher darker contrast ink was better as the transfers tend to come out light.
And next time print more of a bleed instead of cutting it to fit. So if it runs over it looks natural instead of weirdly fit if I get the alignment wrong.
