howdy friends! it’s a-me, mac, bringing you the official pinch-hit sign-up information!

what is a reverse bang?

simply put, a bang is a type of fan challenge in which writers and artists work together to produce new collaborative content for the fandom. in a reverse bang, the artist signs up first and creates a sketch, and the writer claims the person they want to write for based on the sketch and summary the artists provide.

who can participate?

this event accepts writers, graphics-makers (including moodboards, icons, edits), cosplayers, comic artists, traditional artists, and illustrators. whether this is your first time participating in an event or you’re a fandom event veteran, it’s all fine as long as you’re interested in meeting new friends and providing new content for the fandom!

what are the responsibilities?

traditional/digital artists will create a minimum of two works. graphics and cosplayers will create a minimum of four works. writers will create a fic of a minimum of 5,000 words.

this applies to pinch-hitters as well, but minimums may be relaxed or negotiated depending on when you’re called on to help out. you may also be automatically eligible for an extension.

what is the claim process for pinch-hitters?

pinch-hitters, please take a look at the wip document.

you will be asked to claim a minimum of three pairing numbers and/or solo creators in the sign-up form. whether you are an artist or a writer (or both), the projects you choose signify who you are willing to step in for should someone drop out.

anyone claiming a solo project will automatically be called on to help out!

we are officially less than one month out from the start of sign-ups (!!!), so here’s some important information regarding this event!

what is a bang / reverse bang?

this bang is focused on the relationship between viktor nikiforov and katsuki yuuri!

who can participate?

well, that day has come!

starting today, participants will be posting their completed projects! you will be able to see them showcased here on this blog, under the tag #works19 or over at the ao3 collection.

who can participate??

what are the requirements?

for the final project, all traditional / digital media artists must create a minimum of two brand new works, and all graphics makers and cosplayers must create a minimum of four new works. if you’re doing moodboards or icons, please create a minimum of eight!

there is no maximum but all works should be finished and polished by the final deadline.

what is needed from you initially?

because reverse bangs involve collaboration with a writer who will claim you later on, you will need to start working on a sketch / wip that not only conveys your idea for the project, but also conveys your style. writers will use these sketches / wips to determine who they are most interested in working with for this project.

artists will also be asked to submit a summary. the sketches / wips and summaries can be as detailed or vague as you’d like.

they are due on february 2.

we have 22 amazing artist signed up and ready to work, so its time to throw some writers into the mix!

it’s important that you read the following information carefully before proceeding!

what is a reverse bang?

who can participate?

writers of any caliber are welcome, whether you’re a veteran or a first-timer!

what are the requirements?

writers must create a brand new fic of a minimum of 5,000 words.

there is no maximum word count, but all works should be finished and polished by the final deadline.

what is the claim process like?

writers must first sign up using the link below; once the sign-up is submitted writers will follow the link in the form to the claims page to claim their artists as i mentioned here.

claims are first-come, first-served; check the claims page here to see your options.

artist-writer partnerships will be announced / confirmed no later than february 17.

in the writer sign-up post there will be a link directing writers to the form.

writers will fill out the form and click submit

the page that confirms your submission will have a link to the document for artist claiming. this link will not be posted on the sign-up post, so please make sure you follow it before you exit the form.

this doc will also be posted in the discord for artists to follow along the process if they wish.

sign-ups begin really soon! i wanted to remind you all of a few changes happening this year!

first of all, this blog is now in jst, which is utc+9. this can be found on the schedule page. this is different from last year when things were in cst. admin moved to japan xD

sign-ups for every position are much shorter this year than they have been in the past. instead of a full month, sign-ups are only open for one week! 

the bang is shorter in general than last year, so please be prepared for that.

i will be running two bangs simultaneously in two different fandoms, and this time around i will not be participating in the yoibb. please help me out by being on time and keeping track of your own deadlines!
