#infinity crystal

Boss Battle (or similar) time once again!!!

I was actually originally thinking this would be a piano-heavy one?! so I sketched out something a little rhythmically/metrically fun … and then gave the tune to guitars again lol.  Probably better though; my general concept for this entire soundtrack was TAIKO plus ELECTRIC CELLO plus HARD GUITAR ROCK, and all of those elements are featured in this one.  And it has a middle section that's a little more jolly / cycle of 5ths-y and somewhat like classic Final Fantasy battles.

I want to do a whole soundtrack here, but it's taking so looong…  Might post some of the tracks here in the meantime.  (Two of them are the ones I linked on soundcloud a couple weeks back; I started in an immense burst of inspiration, had a slump, seem to be back today; now just lamenting there's not enough time to spend on this!)

but yes … follow-up to last year's Infinity Crystal, this is gonna be…. Infinity Crisis :DD  The story driven action RPG prequel/sequel/spinoff, yo know.  that features traditional instruments + electric cello heavily.

Hello!  This is "Old Cobbled Streets", the town theme from Infinity Crystal. 

Which is a RPG soundtrack that I made up earlier this year.

As well as doing the soundtrack versions though I decided that to make it a real RPG soundtrack recalling my teenage years, it obviously needed a book of piano sheet music.  That is where this version of the track comes from. You can get the piano book here! (free/donation)

Sooo this is the soundtrack project I completed a couple weeks ago and have been mixing and preparing.  I'm super excited to share it with everyone!  Infinity Crystal: Awakening is the (intentionally over-the-top) name of an RPG that doesn't exist, for which I've written a short but plausibly complete OST for, covering various aspects of gameplay.  

The whole album can be downloaded on Bandcamp, for free or whatever you choose (link on the youtube page, because tumblr hates external links.)  It's available in two versions, one soundtrack version like this for listening and then all the tracks as seamless loops which can be used freely in non-commercial game projects in exchange for credit.  Share the love! <3 

Old Cobbled Streets

this is probably the most tropey/stylistic piece I let on here :D  it’s a classic TOWN THEME, with a pretty melody, because I do love those.  Very calming.... have a nice nostalgic wander about town.  This whole soundtrack is Final Fantasy inspired, but in this one particularly you might hear a little something a bit Zelda-esque too.

Tooth and Nail

Completed version of that battle theme where I was like “well it’s just a normal battle theme it doesn’t have be too mu-- ...oh” and then there were not only the John Williams brass and xylophone bits but someone let an electric guitar in half way through.  

Liberty; Romance--

Here’s the last piece from the soundtrack for tonight (though the rest is already up on bandcamp (link in the youtube description, tumblr hates external links) if you want to check it out!) 

eagle-eared(?) among you may spot this is a redo of a piece from last month, just upgraded the sounds and arrangement a little.  

This is a gentle, heartfelt kinda intensely thematic piece that I’ve put at the very end of the album.  Although it’s not the game’s main-theme main theme, it is kind of an important/central theme. (And the one I might do a piano version of!)

I'd play it :D It's very inspired by Final Fantasy, obviously; that's my love and my hinterland always, but everything is original and new composed by me, with a few touches of my own.

BOSS BATTLE, BOSS BATTLE IS HERE

I was very happy to write this one, such a lot of fun.  And I think it sounds like a boss battle, would encourage me/freak me out quite a bit when it started up!
