Imagine if in some turn of events that *did* happen and the pat test confirmed reality… would they still come up with some way to keep believing? (Probably)

I just watched a documentary about Eleanor of Aquitaine and the Empress Matilda! Both pretty remarkable

2. Favorite male historical figure (HF):

Obviously, I have a huge soft spot for Robert Kennedy. He is My Dude. The one I’ve read the most extensively about. The one I have a campaign poster of in my bedroom. The one I theorize about what Could Have Been. In all seriousness, I like the message of his 1968 campaign, especially after LBJ said he wasn’t going to run. It became more about domestic issues rather than just the Administration’s Vietnam policy, like race relations, helping the poor, etc. Granted, he was not always like that. I appreciate his growth over time and his slow recognition of the unique privileges he possessed coming from a wealthy white family and how he could use his privilege to help others. 

3. Favorite female HF:

Eleanor of Aquitaine! I first learned about her while I was studying the Crusades and I read about the Second Crusade. I also did an extensive research project about her role on the crusade, as well as her marriage to Louis VII. She lived a long and remarkable life, married to two kings and the mother of many more. 

4. An HF I really dislike:

I have a lot tbh but I’ll pick one from my time period of focus, the Cold War: Ronald Reagan. I loathe him and can’t stand the way he’s been canonized in American politics. His ‘trickle down’ theory doesn’t work for the poor and he should have been impeached over Iran-Contra.
