India Clinch Epic 5th Test by 6 Runs, Level Series 2–2
In a nail-biting finish at The Oval, India edged out England by just 6 runs to draw the five-match Test series 2–2. It was a match that tested nerves, endurance, and belief — and Team India rose to the occasion.
After trailing by 23 runs in the first innings, India staged a massive comeback, thanks to a stunning century by Yashasvi Jaiswal (101). His controlled aggression laid the foundation for India’s second innings total of 396, setting England a challenging target of 374.
England fought back bravely, with Harry Brook (71) and Joe Root (67) building a solid partnership at a critical moment. At 106/3, it looked like the hosts had the edge. But the game turned when Mohammed Siraj brought relentless pace and precision, claiming a career-best 9 wickets for 190 runs across the match. He was deservedly named Player of the Match.
Supporting him was Prasidh Krishna, who chipped in with 4 crucial wickets, disrupting England’s middle order just when they were looking dangerous.
This wasn’t just a win—it was a statement. A show of mental strength, teamwork, and the never-say-die attitude that defines Indian cricket. The 2–2 result marks India’s second consecutive drawn Test series in England, showcasing the team’s evolution away from home.
As fans, we witnessed a game that had it all: tension, resilience, and brilliance. It’s moments like these that remind us why we love Test cricket.
