Apam balik (lit.â'turnover pancake') also known as Martabak Manis (lit.â'sweet murtabak'), terang bulan (lit.â'moonlight'), peanut pancake or mĂ njiÄnguÇ (Chinese: ćźç 粿), is a sweet dessert originating in Fujian cuisine which now consists of many varieties at specialist roadside stalls or restaurants throughout Brunei, Indonesia, Malaysia and Singapore. It can also be found in Hong Kong as (Chinese: ĺˇçł) and Taiwan as (Chinese: 麼äťç ).
MĂ njiÄn (ćźç ) is a homophone of MÇnqÄŤng (ćťżć¸ ), which ruled the final imperial dynasty in China, while guÇ (粿) means pancake.
