A throwback from this late Winter 

Finally got around to reading this book & wow it was just as good as I'd heard. Alternating chapters interweave the stories of two sisters' family lines through the years beginning in Africa with one sister being kidnapped into slavery & the other sister married to a slave owner. While each generation only gets a chapter, Gyasi packs a lot in a short time so that you get a full sense of the characters, the time periods, and the struggles, both universal and personal. Can we all just take a moment to appreciate these gorgeous naked hardcovers? I hate it when they have slippery covers that will almost certainly be getting torn & lost. I opened up my #Indiespensable box from @powellsbooks & tried taking a nice photo, but Monkey had other ideas. I already have a copy of this one so I'm giving my other copy to a friend so we can read it together! Can't wait to try out the chocolate too (peanut butter flake candy with chocolate from #TomBumble)!
