How Big is A.N.I.M.?
Per a few messages and, like, “messages” we have received in the past few months as well as like, general ways i sometimes get talked to, there is a frequent sorta.. current that a lot of people seem to think that A.N.I.M. is a much larger company/studio than it is. This warped perception of who they’re talking to when interacting with anything A.N.I.M.-related tends to cause people to hold us to a level of scrutiny, “”professionalism,”” and like general contempt that isn’t particularly pleasant or deserved.
Obviously, to those who have already decided to view us with this contempt, this will probably be seen as more “unprofessionalism” or just not be seen at all (probably for the best), but hopefully it might prevent more people from coming to such conclusions in the future.
I get the impression from quite a lot of interactions that people think they’re talking to like, either a cigar-smoking CEO in a fancy office, or an unfeeling machine of bureaucracy that only reacts to as much force as a single customer can muster.
I must stress, there’s like four of us and more than half of anything we do is handled by one single person, including all correspondence, and we are very open and transparent about communication. You really don’t need to come out swinging to get us to hear you out, we have an email address ([email protected]), an open tumblr inbox, and two Discord servers. Like for instance, if you believe one of our projects needs a trigger warning for something that wasn’t included, a 1-star rating on a the store page is not a necessary or appropriate way to inform us of this. In fact it’s pretty likely we won’t even see it, and pretty un-likely that you’ll be checking back to un-do the rating if your issue ever gets fixed.
I know the pretty standard practice for conversing with business is “attack their wallet,” but that’s like, Walmart. A.N.I.M. pulls in about $25,000 a year. Split between four people + freelancers, that’s not a lot, and not all of us are financially stable enough for this to just be unnecessary supplementary income. Especially when it comes to trying as hard as some people do to cut off revenue (as opposed to just not buying themselves) because they have a complaint about the project or a personal gripe with a team member is a lot more like trying to get a minimum wage service worker fired by repeatedly calling place of work than protesting a billion-dollar corporation.
Navy Bird’s most touching story comes to life - step into the strange and beautiful world of the Duality Circus
LADIES AND GENTLEMEAN! BOYS AND GIRLS! GOOD EVENING AND SALUTATIONS!
May I present to you, a Navy Bird’s graphic novel coming to the life of film! A tragic love story of: Arlequino and Pierrot.
Performing at a cosmic circus in deep space near you! He he he!
☀️ Don’t delay! Kickstarter only has 10 days! 🌙
If you love animation, I highly recommend checking out the Kickstarter teaser and reading their campaign. It is absolutely gorgeous in its character design and amazing storytelling, and I hope to see it come to life in this beautiful art style!
Once again, I am not a part of the official team. This is just something I’m very passionate about, and I hope to promote more small projects like this in the future, especially nowadays, it can get very difficult to find the funding to make these projects come to life.
On that note, if you haven’t already, please go check it out. They deserve all the love and support!
them <3

People are upset about the early theatrical release of the TADC finale because it means people who don’t have access to it have to practically shut off their social medias to not get spoiled.
But it seems people are also forgetting an extremely important detail here;
We’re getting a YouTube original series in theaters.
This is HUGE for future YouTubers & the future of movies! If the TADC ‘movie’ does well in theaters, then that means other YouTubers will have a bigger chance at getting their stuff in theaters too! There are so many independent studios using YouTube & GoFundMe/Kickstarter to get their stories out there because the Big Studios™️ are more focused on making cash-grab sequels & AI slop than getting new, original stories out there. YouTube is a wonderful safe haven for these people because there is no corporation filtering what you want to make, so you can be as raw & creative as you want to be!
I strongly believe the only reason Regal is taking their chances with TADC is because Iron Lung, an independent movie by Markiplier (famous YouTuber), broke world records & earned back 10x its budget! Regal was not on board originally & only brought Iron Lung to theaters because fans all over the world were calling & emailing their local theaters to get Iron Lung to them. After agreeing to show Iron Lung, Regal even went so far as to work with Mark to create unique popcorn buckets! This means that after Iron Lung’s theatrical run was over, Regal probably went looking for other YouTube creators who might want to show their stuff, & they likely reached out to Glitch to extend the opportunity.
It is a miracle that we have the finale in theaters at ALL because a year ago, the thought of seeing a YouTuber in the movie theater was an idea big theater chains wouldn’t even consider. Iron Lung was only in 50 theaters originally, but by the end was in 4000, & Mark & his wife were invited to the Oscars this year!
If we (the fans) can create a similar effect, then
The TADC ‘movie’ will get to many more people
Other YouTubers have a higher chance of getting their stuff out there
Being a ‘YouTuber’ will become less of a stigma
The Big Corporations will continue to be forced face-to-face with successful, original stories that people actually want to see, & by extension
They will be more willing to take risks & change their output based on the demand of the people
Leading to more original stories by genuinely creative people!
You guys, this is so much bigger than us. Yes, it sucks that not everyone will be able to see it in theaters, but there is something you can DO about that!! You can call your local theater & request they get in contact with Glitch to get TADC to your area!!
& in doing so, we get to make the future brighter for other creators.
& how amazing would that be?
Don't get got ya'll (animatic by multi!!)
