Unlike the vibes of modern day towns in Bengal, mornings 'round here start with the dawn chorus at half an hour past 4 o' clock, then the sunrise accompanied by the beckoning of the fisherman and vegetable man, and the religious conch sounding atleast thrice from one of our neighbouring houses ; the latter followed by the honking of rickshaws, gearing of 21st Century bikes with open silencers, bicycle bells ringing at the turns of the narrow lane latched onto the fence outside our apartment, unfortunately makes me wake up at 9 o' clock, bidding my final goodbyes to another impossible-in-my-life dream and guess what? The day starts.Astonishingly, amidst everything, radio plays a significant role in my daily life.
