Finally gave INCANTATION (2022) a 3rd watch & it has absolutely cemented itself in my personal ranking of GOATed Horror Movies, Found Footage or otherwise. Anyone who hasn’t heard of it should run towards the film if you enjoy horror in the slightest & can stand the idea of horror involving kids.
In all honesty, 90% of why I love the movie is due to the central parent/child & mother/daughter bond that is core to the plot & themes. It’s achingly beautiful & bittersweet to the point that even now after so many viewings, I genuinely cry at several emotional moments that pepper the runtime. That doesn’t happen often with me during horror films & yet a major reason that the movie has impacted me so massively.
