From Brighton's Influencer to Global Correspondent: Andrea Davenport's New Chapter of American Journalism

BRIGHTON, ILLINOIS / DUMAGUETE, NEGROS ORIENTAL -- The shift of the contemporary print media from online influencer to seasoned journalist is no longer considered a transformation. One example is what most Americans would know about the animated series "The Ghost and Molly McGee". Months after the series finale in mid-January 2024, it has been already progressed into the next level in her career as both local influencer & YouTuber, and media professional who is now considered an experienced online press.
Using her strong digital communication skills and abilities to connect to her news readers and audience abroad, Andrea Davenport found a way to ascend further into the realm of journalism despite her off-record graduation and better training purpose. Because of her skill in digital communication and growing influence and popularity, she entered the field of American mass communication through her capabilities to write compelling local stories to be aired by recognized news stations such as Channel 8 News (temporarily rebranded as "OneNETnews").
Currently, she works for "The Brighton Bugle", Quad Cities' media establishment known for its advocacy of truth and community-focused news. Notably, the said media outlet has been a part of her life for quite some time, initially being her school paper when she was still studying at Brighton Middle School (BMS) until college or university institution. Aside from its commitment to telling truth, it gained notoriety because it was acquired recently by "ONC Holdings", an esteemed media corporation of the Philippines. It marks an important strategy that led TBB to become an internationally-recognized newspaper with Andrea Davenport leading as its Online News Correspondent and Assistant Station Manager of "Negros Island TV8", an independent public media station under one roof.
As mentioned before, her role is multifaceted considering her responsibilities for both local and international news. Locally, she covers the latest developments in the Quad Cities by researching extensively, similar to the approach taken by television news channels. Internationally, she provides coverage during holidays including 'Holy Pranked Day" (or April Fools and Holy Week). In fact, recently, she covered the latest news on Heartfixer, noting down the akumatization of Marinette Dupain-Cheng for the first time ever in "Miraculous Ladybug" (Season 6) after she travelled by bus from Belgium to France. Additionally, it is within her responsibility to create her own newspaper as a contribution to TBB with quality content and attractive presentation.
She aims to uphold the principles of professional journalism which is evident in her rigorous vetting processes before publishing. Andrea is dedicated to the idea of her work being recognized and featured in news stations but not at the expense of journalism's truthfulness in an era plagued with misinformation.
The strict terms of publishing a specific piece of work are a testament to this dedication: "Moving into my career with the ONC Holdings family and becoming a seasoned printing press has enabled me to transform an enthusiasm about the art of digital communication into a dedication to the truth. Be it local news in the Quad Cities or large world events, I intend to fulfill the mission of offering readers a level of trustworthy, high-quality journalism", she noted. Andrea concluded her speech to Channel 8 News saying: "I am so proud to work with our founder [Rhayniel] because we fill that gap between regional and global news. Thank you so much, though, to come on this journey with me and make history with the rest of us".
Every piece of material goes through a rigorous vetting process wherein 'Rhayniel Saldasal Calimpong', the sole founder of ONC Holdings located in Dumaguete City, Negros Oriental passes for the approval. Because of this careful control, Andrea's leadership in TBB makes it a benchmark for the news truth and completely skipped fake news, unless considered to be fact-checked. She's very thankful for this acquisition of ONC Holdings as they are now joining forces in America by bringing closer to you in weekly newspaper.
