What’s Better Than a Winter Post? (IMVU “Holiday Retreat”Bundle Review)
Nothing is better than a winter post when you live in a tropical climate right? But for those of you getting slammed by blizzards and snow flurries may the odds be ever in your favor. Let’s be honest though snow is nice from afar when you’re not experiencing it which comes to a review of a winter wonderland room bundle in IMVU called the “Holiday Retreat.”
This “Holiday Retreat” bundle is a winter dream for you and your friends and even has a little something special for your virtual life romances. This bundle claims to have 30 overall items that come with it plus 10,000 credits to spend on anything you want inside of the shop. The total pricing of this bundle is $19.99 and can be found at https://www.imvu.com/bundles/ga_holiday_retreat/ best part is you can still purchase this bundle. This winter getaway theme has so much to offer from snuggling in a warm cozy cabin to going outside and having your avatar participate in various winter activities and animations. The possibilities are endless. But the pros don’t always come without their cons and to be fair in my eyes there are a few. I’m also rather picky when it comes to my rooms and items. They have to be well made and realistic for me to use. The creator I tend to buy furniture and room items the most goes by the name Whims. If you haven’t seen or heard of her stuff I highly suggest checking out her clothes, accessories, rooms, and furniture because to me they’re worth the buy.
Some of the cons I've encountered are how some of the objects were made. For example, the couches inside of the cabin I love the theme and the overall idea. However, it just seems like the time spent on this furniture piece was lacking. Also, if your avatar is wearing a scaler to make it smaller or bigger in any way the animations and activities won’t look right and I’m not quite sure why this is. Another thing I noticed that’s been bothering me is the water texturing. Yes, this can be overlooked, however, it bothers me a lot. Then again though I have OCD so that could be most of the problem on my end and why I’m so picky when doing interior and exterior design in any virtual world platform. Honestly, though these were the only cons I have experienced. Everything runs smoothly and there's a lot to do, a lot of poses, activities, cuddles, etc. There’s not too much to complain about. Don’t you love it when you can’t complain about things? It makes you feel somewhat accomplished at the end of the day.
Activities in this bundle are all winter-related these are things like petting and riding reindeer (Yes! Ana and Elsa Sven is mine! Go find your own!). This is probably my favorite one because when it comes to taking photos it makes them look mystical and beautiful because you know winter and reindeers what could be better? There is a carousel it’s nice but I wish it spun so it looks like your riding it. There’s a toy train that you can sit in and pose but I wish this moved too. Another activity that I found useful with me and my IMVU crew is the snowball fight activity. What is a winter-themed bundle without your good ole classic snowball fight? Watch as your avatars pelt each other with pixelated snowballs. It’s more entertaining than you may think. Now my least favorite activity and this is partly to do with the texturing that I just can’t overlook is the sledding. The activity is just awkward to watch my avatar looked like a penguin trying to board a sled instead of my avatar trying to board a sled.
Overall, this theme is super cute and the perfect winter wonderland for both the holidays and just as a beautiful winter room to hang out with your friends or your loved ones in. I think all in all I’d recommend I’d give this bundle a 7.5/10 this was my first bundle and for something that matches an overall theme, I’d say it’s worth the money. It was nice that it came with 10,000 credits I think that’s something that bumps the value of this bundle up I feel the bundle itself with just the room and furniture is not worth the $19.99. What’s better than winter? Well… anything that doesn’t leave you trapped in the house just live it virtually instead.
