Ok so... Hear me out (or him out) π
Below, Iβll be rating the memories from this banner based onΒ story, song, outfit, and dance.
Please take these reviews with a grain of salt and donβt take them too seriously π- this is just my personal opinion! π
This is my final post (all other LIs have already been released). π
SYLUS
Story: 6/10
Review:
Unfortunately, this card was the most lacking in plot. Although the Polar Night lasted two weeks, barely anything happened.
The story focuses on their relationship from MCβs point of view.MC uses the Polar Night as an opportunity to adapt to the darkness because itβs Sylusβs world. This is MCβs way of trying to be closer to him.
I didnβt like the lack of communication from Sylus. He isnβt a silent or shy guy. Quite the opposite. He always supports MC with words, asks for consent, and finds ways to comment on things, etc. However, whenever MC asks about his past (for example, what happened after he left the interstellar arena), his answers are always vague or non-answers. I canβt understand why this is. Is it something he canβt talk about? Is it his nonchalant behavior? Maybe trauma?
However, the level of trust and confidence Sylus and MC have in each other is heartfelt. They are the ultimate, unstoppable power couple.
The dance scene with Sylus was so funny and cringe - in the best way. MC challenging him to a dance-off was pure gold entertainment.
I was also disappointed by the lack of spice. After watching the trailer, I expected more. That said, I always enjoy seeing a dom MC.
Outfit: 10/10 - The shirt gives figure-skater costume vibes, but somehow it works, and Sylus looks good in anything.
Song: 3/10 - This is a perfect example of "itβs so bad itβs good". Iβm 100% sure Luke and Kieran wrote the lyrics, and you canβt convince me otherwise. π€£
Dance (moves) : 10/10 - The performance reminds me of Magic Mike. Either way, it gives me the urge to throw cash on the stage. π
I was laughing so hard watching this again.

Finished actually watching the content for Improvised Flowβ¦ well, I didnβt much like that in the end - it was so much like that βweddingβ card where the big event (ie, wedding, or pop concert) doesnβt really have anything to do with the rest of the story of the card, itβs just this thing that they do at one point, then go do something else. You know? Like with wander in wonder and tomorrowβs catch 22, the whole card was all about that event, and it was interesting.
Like. Imagine if, for Grasslands Romance, the rest of the card was actually about I dunno a jewel auction or something and the whole story is about MC and Sylus at this auction, then suddenly at one point in the story Sylus says βwait, thereβs this event happening, letβs change clothesβ and he comes out in the grasslands outfit and wins a wrestling match. Then after that, thatβs all done and the rest of the story is about the jewel auction again. We donβt get to see the whole bit where theyβre interacting with the grasslands tribe and doing different things there, instead the story is something else that has nothing to do with that at all. You know?
Thatβs how I feel about some of these recent cards.
I mean even the silly cat butlers event managed to make a whole entire story about it? It wasnβt just oh letβs go get changed into cat clothes for the big kindled scene, ok thatβs all done now, moving on.
It makes me cranky because the actual story there was interesting. Sylus was talking about his past a lot, and the change in their dynamic is interesting - MC feels a lot more comfortable following Sylus into the dark, and Sylus feels a lot more comfortable letting her take the lead. Itβs such a shame the pop idol thing is just kind of tacked on and not properly incorporated into that at all.
I hope this doesnβt become normal for the multi banners. I only watch the Sylus content: I wonder if the cards for the other guys are better written?
EDIT: man the more I really think about it, the crankier Iβm getting. Any card that introduces its big kindle cutscene with βoh wait I want to show you something, letβs change clothesβ is an automatic miss going forward for me. Incorporate the events into the story better, you guys!
