Anyways we had this idea on stream and I need to write it down so it isn’t lost to time/ADHD memory:
Story that starts with the Obvious Main Character and their mother, who is clearly The Dead/Dying/Soon-To-Die Mother archetype. Obvious Main Character also has The Childhood Friend, who also has The Obviously Soon To Die Mother. And yet, when the moment comes, neither mother dies. Instead, their kids die saving them and the now very much Not Dead Mothers are journeying together to Avenge Their Children. Along the way they pick up a party of Other Archetypal Characters who would normally die for the development of the Main Character who ended up outliving their respective main character (Such as The Old Mentor and The Sickly Younger Sibling).
Also the two moms definitely lez out at points and their romance is a key part of the story, the Yuri is Necessary.
(Also like there’s the possibility that their kids were both guys and they were definitely yaoi-ing it up in the background so like, when the moms get married the confirmed Background Yaoi is now Brother Yaoi but shh that was just something I came up with for Problematic Shipping Points.)
