Hi guys, how are we doing?
I just wanted to come on here and spread a little awareness about how important your mental health is. A lot of people go through difficult things, and honestly, I do too sometimes. I get anxious, and sometimes I even feel jealous when I see other people’s amazing artwork. I hate feeling that way because it’s not the kind of person I want to be, but those feelings can happen.
If you ever start feeling overwhelmed or like something is wrong, it’s completely okay to take a break. You’re not tied to anyone here, and nobody is forcing you to keep posting.
If you need a break, take one.
Take a month off, a week off, or even just a few days. Your mental health and well-being are far more important than likes, comments, or reblogs. Those things can sometimes make anxiety worse, and that’s not worth it.
I’m feeling a little bit of that myself right now, to be honest. I’m okay, but sometimes when I see really incredible artwork, I start thinking that I’m somehow “behind.” But the truth is, I’m not. I’ve been doing art for 20 years. I just do it in a more traditional, old-school way. I guess you could say I’m a bit of an old soul when it comes to art.
Maybe one day I’ll transition into being a digital artist, but for now I’m happy with where I am.
So if you ever feel like you need a break, please listen to yourself and take it. Be kind to yourself and stand behind yourself. Don’t let anyone tell you otherwise.
You have friends here. You have the characters you’ve created. You’re talented, you’re kind, and you’re appreciated. 💛
